I get smoothies at a local smoothie place about twice per week.

My smoothie is made with a banana, some peanut butter, and this stuff.

obviously, I know what's in the peanut butter and the banana, but how bad is the nutritional info described here, which is the actual smoothie mix.?

Thanks!

-Matt

doesn't look too harmful, though it depends on how much they use.

if they stick to one serving size, then 13g of sugar won't kill you, though it's not a bad idea to cut that out, if possible

*edit for grammar*

Relatively high in sugar, particularly when you add the banana, plus whatever is in the peanut butter. Outside of that it seems ok, unless you eat a tonne of saturated fat in other things, then you may want to be careful.

I could be wrong, but I think smoothie mix might be made out of mostly yogurt and sugar, or something along those lines. That'd explain the carbs and the saturated fat.

I wouldn't say it's horrible for you, especially if kept in the 3 oz. serving size, but you could always see if they have a low-fat/low-sugar option.

Don't be so sure. It would be good news if half of that banana was actually banana.

I see them put banana in. I watch them make it.

They put a full banana in, a scoop of peanut butter, and this mix

I hope those comments were all from when this topic was in Off Topic. No trolling in this forum please.

I wouldn't worry to much about this smoothie, especially at only twice a week. As others suggested, maybe try making your own with yogurt, fruit, and pb. You can do some amazing stuff in a blender.

There is probably more sugar in the banana than in the mix. If you want to make it yourself, you'd be better off using natty PB.
