I cant hear any differnence honestly. I got a SB Audigy and didnt notice ANYTHING diff between it and my mobo onboard sound.... freaks

That's because the Audigy is one of the worse cards you can get. Your onboard audio might even be better.

That's like saying "I swear, I drove a Civic and a Corolla and can't tell the difference ... freaks!"

good analogy. to me every penny i spend on audio gear is worth it as music is one of few things i enjoy in my life. cars on the other hand do not tickle my fancy. to me they are just vehicles, i dont see a point in spending extraordinary amount of money in mere means of transportation.

if you cant tell the difference between audigy and emu cards you must be officialy halfway deaf.

fo shizzy. you guys don't know what you are missing. what isn't included with headphones is the cost of a good amp ($300+) and interconnects ( $100+ ) and source (varies)

The E5c are good, but that's still within the general realm of sanity for most headphone fans 😉 I'm probably picking up a pair of E3c's in the future...I'm not as picky about my on-the-go SQ as I am for my home system. Which is changing again in a month...yipes.

psh!

sennheiser makes (or at least made) a setup that cost $15,000. yes, fifteen thousand dollars. they were basically HD-600's with a tube amp.

personally, i make do with a pair of HD-580's.

absolutely do not care enough about music to warranty spending anything close to that amount. but to the audiophiles i guess it makes a huge difference.

i wish i had enough money to spend on a better set of phones...currentlyi just use some old senn. HD-16s...still better than a lot of the crap out there 😀

The question was onboard vs Audigy. Not Audigy vs EMU. I think *I* could tell the difference. My 1212M is doing burn-in.

Audigy's and any consumer-level sound card are all overpriced junk. Plug into some real monitor speakers and plug the same speakers into a professional-grade sound card and you are in for a world of difference.

Honestly, for the $200 or whatever you spend on an audigy, you can get a cheap professional-grade sound card or simple USB recording interface that will sound 25x better. Creative Labs is a joke.

This is all insane. I am big into music and stuff, but like I said, there is no differnece to me between my new audigy and onboard sound I had. I dont have anything else to compare it to. I honestly cant even hear the difference between 320kbps and 128, I guess im not hardcore

do a google for the price on the sennheiser orpheus headphones/amp...$500 won't seem so much lol
