So I want a new tv and Fry's Electronics as the Panasonic TH50PX60U for $1999 while everyone else carries it for $2799. Anybody here have one of them? What are your thoughts on the tv?

I have an older 42" Panny, besides Pioneer's Elite line, I think they're one of the best looking plasmas out there

Maybe you are compaing the 60U with the 600U?

Nope, all show as the 60U

I have the 42" version of that same TV that I bought earlier this summer. It's a beautiful set, and both HD and SD signals look great on it. Definitely recommended.

I got the 42PX60U too - only because my living room really isn't large enough for the 50PX60U. Beautiful TV!!!

I have a 50" Panasonic (rebadged HP) and have been LOVING it for 1.5 years. You just can't go wrong with a Panny.

I think by now Panasonic and Pioneer plasmas have become a standard in PQ for plasma. Check avsforum and every one is raving about their panny (and pioneers for those who have a little more dough). I have the 42px60u and love it. My only regret is that I didn't spring for the 50". But then from CES 2007 it seems like a good decision seeing that there are 60-63" plasmas from vizio/philips (1080p) for around 3k on the horizon and I can use the money saved now for them for the next superbowl.

I have one and I love it, looks great even with a standard signal has plenty of inputs and all around a great TV.

We have that exact model. Great tv, great images. Very slick.

Plasmas more than LCD's need to be calibrated. Maybe you saw an uncalibrated (or poorly calibrated) one?

where's the puke emoticon when you need one. dlp is no where near plasma in picture quality. You WILL NOT be disappointed in a Panasonic plasma.
