Mr Expert, no it was Nvidia that had massive issues that had to be addressed a a few days later.

and I get 76 fps on the settings that you get 58 fps. thats a whopping 30% faster than your 7850. in fact my minimum was 62 fps. are we done yet?

lol nice try. Nvidia did horrible when that game was released mainly with tressfx and that was well known. thay had some massive increases from newer drivers. QUOTE]
So did AMD. I get 58fps min with HD 7850 in Tomb Raider 2013 on Ultra 1080 sans TressFX

EDIT: - opps, didn't see your last post - Were good :)

Can you run the bench with the settings I have outlined above. Also make sure it's set at 1080P - I'm interested - 58 FPS sounds awful high..

EDIT: - opps, didn't see your settings
that was him getting 58 without tressfx and me getting 76.

I ran your exact settings and posted about that earlier.

for comparison my gtx660ti at basically stock got 44.7 fps in Tomb Raider.

oced by 85mhz for a max boost of 1163 and memory at 7000mhz gave me 50.6.

Results look good Face, I would have thought the 570 would have been able to beat the stock 7950, but it seems it can't at least not in these titles.

My take away is what I felt with my 470s, last gen highly clocked at 1080p, playable fps delivered. I imagine outside of the bench bat though you'd run into some problems with the frame buffer on the 570, especially in titles like Bioshock.

That said as toyota pointed out the efficiency of a new node is hard to ignore.

Thanks man. I wasn't able to get any higher than 950 core on this particular card. It's an MSI TF3 GTX 570 OC/PE. Funny you should say, Bioshock was eating all of GTX 570's memory. I suspect in future titles the lack or memory will hinder it's performance. Still put up some respectable numbers especially in Crysis 3. Wish I had a Killawatt to see what kind numbers it was pulling from the wall..

At those clocks, a lot I would imagine.

I still think my 470s and my 5.3GHz i5-2500k are the reason my SSD died twice and my HDD once.

If only I had a kill-a-watt then 960/2250 470s even at 37C can't be sipping power.

Wow.. you would probably need to pull a separate 15amp circuit for that beastly setup. 1200watt PSU?

Nice
Can you post a single 7870 as well? OC and stock at the same settings? Would be nice to see how the GTX 570 stacks up against the 7870. I know there are variables, but still...

For some odd reason whenever i disable CrossFire PC BSOD's so i might have to take one out to do a single card run

This looks to be on par with the overclocked GTX 570 if I am looking at it correctly. Of course we have different rigs, but interesting none the least.

Good run, this is putting the 7870 OC'd 10 FPS beyond the OC'd GTX 570

500 series owes nothing to the new generation. If it was 28nm it could compete without problems

Just ran the Tomb Raider benchmark using the same settings as the OP, and I got 102 Min, 180 Max and 132 Avg.

This was at 1280mhz on the core and 7.7ghz on the memory..

Very nice! Looks to be a little quicker than Balla's 7950's.
