1050 is not crap for a 5870. You did have the voltage way up but I bet just a little back down on the clock speed would have netted a much lower v core.

I probably would have kept the card.

Yes. 1000/1500 is really about as good as anyone should hope for on air.

1050MHz isn't bad on a 5870. I doubt you'd notice a difference between 1050 and 1150, remember the 5870's didn't scale fantastically with clock speed. Of course an overclocked 7850 is going to be that much better. :)

You sure love to make it difficult for yourself!

7770 crossfire will certainly beat the 7850 at stock. Here's a review showing the duo about equal to a GTX570 at 1920x1200: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/HIS/HD_7750_7770_CrossFire/22.html

Because they overclock nearly as well as a 7850, they'll keep most of their advantage when OC'd, but you'll potentially run into some very serious memory limitations that aren't worth the hassle for a setup that is both more expensive than a 7850 and only nominally faster.

Don't do it.

The 7850 should be faster in newer DX11 games with it's superior geometry and compute performance. Add that to it being smaller, cooler, and uses less power it would be my choice.

hell yeah you are right!

and not only that, you get PCI 3.0 which is great for future upgrades and what not, if i were you i'd give it 30 more bucks and get the 7850, i actually ordered mine last night, from what i am hearing in the forums, it can achieve GTX 580 performance with OC
