HD 5870 vs GTX 460

At one point I was gonna get the ATI but I read that there are grey screen issues and some people are having problems with this card (well, almost every card had issues with some people)

Right now I'm leaning towards either of the GTX 460. It does run pretty cool right?

Gtx460 will run cool. They are also a virtual guarantee to oc to 800 Mhz. Don't hesitate if it fits your budget.
 
ok boys the sale is over...the 5870 is $280.

If the op didn't buy a card yet, the gtx460 wins easily.

That is 10% slower than the 5970, and 13% faster than the 5870. However, my assumption SLI & OC GTX460 would be at the same performance level as an OC 5970.

IMHO, GTX460 is the best bang for buck card at the moment.
