Just for clarification...we know that they arrested or caught SOMEONE for the killing, right? It was implied when the new detectives brought up that maybe they got the wrong person, I thought.

In the "current" timeline, they mentioned they had made an arrest in the past. But the two detectives seem to have re-opened the case because there was another similar murder. Remember the picture of the murder they showed to "older" mcconaughey toward the end of the pilot? That was a new murder - implying they had arrested the wrong person.

It was pretty good and I noticed one of those new black detectives was the bow tie wearing guy from The Wire

I bet Woody bangs Daddario and McCouneghy bangs Woody's wife. You heard it here first, folks.

There are a lot of interesting theories out there (esp on the IMDB forum) about what happened between the 2 detectives that caused the rift. My gut says that they end up working together again on the new case.

I'm curious as to how long this show will run. Will it be a 10 episode series or a show that goes for several seasons?

It's only an 8 ep arc. If it comes back next year, it will be with a whole new cast and story line, like American Horror (sic.)

I watched the premiere last night, pretty interesting. I was shocked at how different past and present McConaughey look, I wouldn't have recognized the "present" one at all.

Which is nice because now AHS won't win the miniseries award by default every year.

Whaaaat? Really?? I heard it was an 8 episode season, but I did not hear that the actors would be done if they bring it back again. Where did you see this?

A large portion of the cast is the same in each season of American Horror story so far. Some actors who played major characters instead play minor ones, but definitely a lot of the actors carry over. I'm assuming that's less likely for this show.

arrested the wrong person OR had a copy cat.

But they also said almost all of the details were sealed, which raised the question "how did anybody know about the first one, or the details in which it was performed"? Basically, the first murder was a secret (murder was known, details were not) so how did someone pull off such a similar murder without having been involved with the first one?

Maybe they suspect one of the cops, or someone on the staff thar was involved in the original investigation.

McConaughey for obvious reasons (alcoholism.) Woody for more obscure reasons yet to be revealed.

That's my guess.

But the true answer, of course, is:

Anyone else notice the owl in the burned out church? Is that a clue to something specific from EP1? I don't remember seeing it...
