UPDATE: I received mine 3 days ago. Incredibly bright. Exceeded my expectation. I'm happy. Plan to keep 2 and give away 4 to friends.

how do these compare in quality to the actual photon lights? they look pretty similar. I miss having a flashlight sometimes and wouldn't mind having a couple spares around.

He ran out yesterday, but not everyone paid, so there are still 150+ available -- there's a review (by the seller) on page 4 or 5 of the thread....

looks pretty good, I picked up a dozen for stocking stuffers...

my blue photon is dying

Photons have a lifetime guarantee. You pay postage to them and they send you a repaired (often brand new) photon. They replaced one of my green P3s and my Fusion last year.

These little lights seem like a great deal at that price, but I have yet to find a coin cell LED light as bright and well made as the photons. (NO, I do not work for LRI).

even if the led is just all scratched up? info on returning please ??

Doesn't look like it ...

I doubt these are as good as the Photons, but for $1.25 (vs $15.95 retail for the photon II's), I'll take a chance 🙂

IS IT HAWT?

Does this qualify for a Hot Deal when it's an individual selling these out of Hong Kong through a forum post?

I think my pops sells these for $2 and they cost him $1 for small quantity purchase. They are pretty nice and smaller then other led units out there. Mine lasts me a few months each before the battery dies.

If you want to compare LED flashlight performance try this site LED Museum. This guy has spend tons of time testing and abusing all sorts of LED lights (including the Photons).

Maybe someone who bought one of the lights from this post can identify if it has been tested in the LED museum?

Btw, those similar looking $15 ones are total ripoff compared to these.

Well, I have a LED light I bought from Fry's back in 03 for $19 or so, that one works well. I also bought one from Target or something for $8 which works but not as nice. For $1.67 each this is a great deal, and has to be brighter than the cheap one I had for $8. I like these little lights much nicer than the MagMini... that Mag light hangs down too low on my Keychain and hits my leg when I'm driving so I got rid of it. Plus it's not that bright anyway.

I've used them enough (because I almost always have it when I need it) that even the $20 one has saved me time finding stuff and therefore saved me $$$.

Plus, I never ordered from Hong Kong before, and for $10 it's a good trial run with little risk. 😉

That guy is in Singapore. He's a long time poster at CPF. No need to worry about getting scammed by him.

Just a bump, received yesterday. Lights are very bright, much brighter than cheap one I purchased at Target earlier in the year. The color is a bit on the blue side, imo, but close enough to white to not be annoying. Compared to my $20 light I got from Fry's about 1.5yrs ago it's really close. The $20 has a much smoother beam pattern and seems more natural in color, but, for the price of these, absolutely no complaints, great value, hell, the batteries alone cost that much. 😛

Not sure if he's still selling 'em, but, glad I jumped in.

He's still selling them. He also came out with even a smaller model with a much brighter battery. He has added red and theres talk for some purple and other colors soon. Ive ordered about 20 lights so far. The quality and brightness has by far, exceeded anything ive purchased in the states.

I bought 5 and they showed up late last week. Very quick service and shipping. Units are very nice and work very well. I'm sorry to see that he now has the 3mm version as I will now have to take and order more =)
