Loving it, just loving it. Went out for her birthday in a limo, bought her some pearls, went to a great restaurant, etc. We like each other, but because of the distance who knows if it will work out. For those that didn't read my KBR thread, I met a District Attorney down in Mexico, and I came up here for a week to visit. At her house leeching of a neighbor's WIFI connection right now. Had a hell of a derecho weather event up here last night as well.

It is great to be able to discuss the law with someone and have someone who is on my level -- doesn't hurt that she is beautiful too. Sure, there is an age difference -- she's 36 and I'm 22, but we've already both said it doesn't matter. I guess I'll be flying up here whenever I have days off. That's what Frequent Flyer miles are for! God, I don't want Sunday to come (when I have to go back). I want to get back to work and start kicking ass again and taking names, but at the same time I'm smitten, and this is possibly the greatest week of my life. I say that -- even having the Mexican Two-Step -- which has had me in GI distress the entire time. Every time I eat it is time to hit up the toilet, but oh well.

For once, I'm finally happy. My life is going in the right direction, and I'm content with everything in life.

Edit: The great thing is that if I moved here I could finish up my degree at OU (I'd still say Hook 'Em Horns and War Eagle, though) because I'm about 3 miles from the Campus, and that's where she got her JD and Undergrad. Maybe that's what will happen, and I'll have a place for my dogs (she's got two as well), and everything would just be stellar. We shall see.

Norman, OK? OU? I'm a Longhorn ;)

I can't hate on OU though, as my gf's mother graduated from there ;)

'Sooner' or later, we'll win again!

Sometimes you realize you just need some time off and a change in life to clear your head, and that's what I got. So, I'm gonna go back to the old grind, but I had that moment of clarity and have a new purpose. Call it an early mid-life crisis.

Ah, yes it is, but like I said we're pretty mature about the whole thing. She's been married before, and we realize there's a good chance it won't work.

/queue Texas A&M fight song.

"The eyes of Texas are upon you..."
That is the song they sing so well
So good-bye to Texas University
We're going to beat you all to--
Chig-gar-roo-gar-rem
Chig-gar-roo-gar-rem
Rough Tough! Real Stuff! Texas A & M!

Saw Varsity's horns off!
Saw Varsity's horns off!
Saw Varsity's horns off!
SHORT! Ay!

Varsity's horns are sawed off!
Varsity's horns are sawed off!
Varsity's horns are sawed off!

"The Spirit of Aggieland"

Some may boast of prowess bold.
Of the schools they think so grand,
But there's a spirit can ne'er be told,
It's the spirit of Aggieland.

We are the Aggies-the Aggies are we,
True to each other as Aggies can be,
We've got to FIGHT, boys,
We've got to FIGHT!
We've got to fight for maroon and white.
After they've boosted all the rest,
They will come and join the best.
For we are the Aggies-the Aggies are we,
We're from Texas A.M.C.

T-E-X-A-S, A-G-G-I-E,
Fight! Fight! Fight-Fight-Fight!
Fight! Maroon! White-White-White!
A-G-G-I-E, Texas! Texas! A-M-C!
Gig'em Aggies! 1! 2! 3!
Farmers Fight! Farmers Fight!
Fight-Fight
Farmers, Farmers, Fight!

I gotta say, I lived in Norman for nearly 2 1/2 years, and it was easily the worst place I've ever spent a meaningful amount of time. Hopefully your mileage will vary!

Glad you are in a state of bliss. I had similar "fun" at your age. Enjoy it to the fullest...

however, keep a little grounded, you are young, and the world is before you. Remember that, esp with the ladies.

keep perspective and dont let willy run the show...will get you in serious trouble. Trust me, I have done it enough to know.

That being said, enjoy the moments...the honeymoon, woo part is awesome. When that dies down, as all new things do, remember if it really means anything...it is going to take WORK!

kudos

Heh, it is funny I've really enjoyed it here, and not just because of her. I dunno, I've lived in the big cities and the rural areas, and this place is just darn cool.

Now Starkville, MS on the otherhand -- what a hellhole.

Hey now! :D

I lived in Starkville while attending MSU and while it wasn't that bad, I could never live in a small college town. Tupelo is much, much better.

Thank you for the kind words, sir. The "willy" issue isn't even an issue, because we haven't taken it to that level and we don't want to. We both realize the carnal aspect of things can confuse and mess with a relationship or complicate it. I've always been a person that cared more about love and companionship than sex. Sex is better anyway when it involves emotion with someone you care about. Never been a fan of one night stands even though I've done them -- albeit foolishly. People may disagree and what works for them works for them.

I've no allusions, it may not work out, but I've gotten a great moment of clarity and new goals in life. I feel like a changed person, and not because of her at all, but just because of my experience over the past few weeks. It really made me realize some things about myself and the world, and now I have a purpose, my goals, and I'm happy. If things don't work out then they don't, but at least I now know what I'm looking for, I'm content, and my life is moving in a positive direction.
