no way would i ever again use a spinner for the OS drive. even my notebooks have had ssds swapped in.

my 1st ssd, an intel X25 G2 80 gig bought in 2009 is alive and well in a notebook.

its actually painful to work on someones spinner system now.

ROFL hell no. Every single computer in my household uses SSD for OS. I also use SSDs for Virtual Machines, heck, even my pfSense box has SSD. I only use hard drives for data and media storage.

Now if read/write head technology could be improved to eliminate the swinging arm and use a fixed arm that can access across the entire disk surface as needed then we might breath new life into mechanical drives. Why can't we have one similar to a guitar pickup that can access any spot on the disk as needed?
