I hear people saying we don't need this war
I say there's some things worth fighting for
What about our freedom and this piece of ground?
We didn't get to keep 'em by backing down
They say we don't realize the mess we're getting in
Before you start preaching
Let me ask you this my friend

CHORUS 1
Have you forgotten how it felt that day
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away?
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside
Going through a living hell
And you say we shouldn't worry 'bout Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

They took all the footage off my T.V.
Said it's too disturbing for you and me
It'll just breed anger that's what the experts say
If it was up to me I'd show it every day
Some say this country's just out looking for a fight
After 9/11 man I'd have to say that's right

CHORUS 1
Have you forgotten how it felt that day
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away?
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside
Going through a living hell
And you say we shouldn't worry 'bout Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

I've been there with the soldiers
Who've gone away to war
And you can bet they remember
Just what they're fighting for

CHORUS 2
Have you forgotten all the people killed?
Some went down like heroes in that Pennsylvania field
Have you forgotten about our Pentagon?
All the loved ones that we lost
And those left to carry on
Don't you tell me not to worry about Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

Have you forgotten?
Have you forgotten?

If you are going to fight a war against terrorism why would you want to help the terrorist recruit by invading Iraq who had nothing to do with the 9/11 attacks?

1. Posting full lyrics in a public forum is a violation of copyright. Congratulations, you are now a pirate.

2. There has never been any evidence whatsoever linking the events of 9-11 to Iraq in any way. It would have made more logical sense to bomb Florida in retaliation than Iraq.

3. All the evidence available indicates that our destabilization of the area has made Iraq a far more favorable area for terrorist recruitment than it was before.

4. Hussein was anti-terrorist.

I don't know where you get your information, but that country has a very large finger print on all of this. No, Red, you did not just say that did you? That place has been the yolk of terrorism for many years. Do you deny that?

At least minimally, you could say that Iraq under Saddam was a terrorism sponsor as he paid out millions over the years to the families of Palestinian militants. We also saw missile strikes launched by President Clinton in retaliation for an alleged Bush Sr. assassination plot:
Clinton, speaking in a televised address to the nation at 7:40 last night, said he ordered the attack to send three messages to the Iraqi leadership: "We will combat terrorism. We will deter aggression. We will protect our people."
But no, I don't think Iraq had any part in 9/11. Nevertheless...how do you people know that compuwiz1/the song is not talking about the overall war including Afghanistan?

In spite of what you hear from the likes of Fox and Rush, Iraq had absolutely nothing to do with the attack on 9/11. Bush himself was ultimately forced to concede this in one of the 2004 debates. To continue to exploit the 9/11 tragedy for an unrelated political agenda is just as repugnant now as it was three years ago. You should be ashamed of yourself for continuing to parrot this BushCo misdirection.

IMO.

Ok, I'll give ya that, go on.

BTW, anyone who thinks that Saddam was not a terrorist and a major oppressor of people, not to mention a mass murderer, needs to go back and study for a spell. I'm not a huge death penalty proponent, but that one needs to fry!

Will the Iraqis ever forget 3/19?

Have they forgotten how it felt that day
When they saw their homeland under fire
And their people blown away?

And regarding forgetting about bin Laden, you really need to talk to George W. Bush about that. What ever happened to "dead or alive"??? How the hell did that become ?I truly am not that concerned about him????

BTW, you posted your sophomoric lyric without adding any personal comment. I understand that's against the rules.

Anyway, since you started it, here ya' go, I have a lyric for ya'!

It's Country Joe and the Fish!!!

Yeah, come on all of you, big strong men,
Uncle Sam needs your help again.
He's got himself in a terrible jam
Way down yonder in Vietnam
So put down your books and pick up a gun,
We're gonna have a whole lotta fun.

And it's one, two, three,
What are we fighting for ?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
Next stop is Vietnam;
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why,
Whoopee! we're all gonna die.

Well, come on generals, let's move fast;
Your big chance has come at last.
Gotta go out and get those reds ?
The only good commie is the one who's dead
And you know that peace can only be won
When we've blown 'em all to kingdom come.

And it's one, two, three,
What are we fighting for ?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
Next stop is Vietnam;
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why
Whoopee! we're all gonna die.

Huh!

Well, come on Wall Street, don't move slow,
Why man, this is war au-go-go.
There's plenty good money to be made
By supplying the Army with the tools of the trade,
Just hope and pray that if they drop the bomb,
They drop it on the Viet Cong.

And it's one, two, three,
What are we fighting for ?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
Next stop is Vietnam.
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why
Whoopee! we're all gonna die.

Well, come on mothers throughout the land,
Pack your boys off to Vietnam.
Come on fathers, don't hesitate,
Send 'em off before it's too late.
Be the first one on your block
To have your boy come home in a box.

And it's one, two, three
What are we fighting for ?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
Next stop is Vietnam.
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why,
Whoopee! we're all gonna die.

He might know something we don't. Bin might have been dead along time ago. US GOVT, might have somethings, that in the interest of national security, we just don't need to know right now. (at least that's what they would like us to believe)

It is very emotionally satisfying to think with your balls. It's so titillating to be outraged. All that frustration with the emptiness of life and self hate we can dump on some external evil as we war dance around the communal fire. I come alive when it's us against them. Killing them makes me feel I'm killing the evil in me that I hate. Bring um on!

I remember you 9/11. What I can't get a handle on any more though is that tantrum against Mommy and Daddy where they made me die to my own self love. That's the one that lies buried. That's the one I forgot.

So let me get this straight. You're saying bin Laden might be dead but Bush is hiding it FOR SECURITY REASONS???!

BWAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

You people are getting funnier by the second.

That was beautiful...I think. Now what exactly did you mean, dude? Most of america gets titilated by thinking with their balls. If you don't believe this, just go ask 10 of the 30 people, who are waiting on line at the post office. Their perspectives on life (and everything else), will be quite warpped, compared to most. ;)
