It's that way for most of the country. There are what about 10 swing states? The rest are pretty solidly one color or the other. Screw you EC.
Well, there are a lot of other offices (plus propositions and such). I've conceded there's little point to voting for President but we've had non-Democrats hold other public offices here so there's always some hope :)

I vote most of the time. I like complaining and if you don't vote I believe you have no right to complain.

But, I'm CA so in many ways my vote doesn't count.

I hate that argument, partly because one of the things I want to complain about is how fucked up the voting process is :colbert:

Same difference as someone complaining they are fat yet continuing to eat a Big Mac for lunch every day. Why complain if you aren't even trying to do anything to change? Not voting simply demonstrates you are indifferent about how the government is operating.

I've voted in every election I was legally old enough to vote in. Even the ones I knew my candidate of choice had zero chance in.

That's not the right analogy. What's happening is that they're giving me the choice between a Big Mac and a Whopper and I don't want either of them... so I'm eating in instead. And now you're saying that because I didn't choose one of the two shitty options that I'm not allowed to complain about how shitty my choices were.

I vote most any election. If you believe in democracy, it can be argued that you have a duty to vote unless you have an excuse... i.e. you're an idiot. If you don't believe in democracy, maybe you should move to a dictatorship, where you'd be in your element.

i like the analogy, but would have substituted Big Mac and Whopper with a choice between a shit sandwich or a double shit sandwich. :p
