Serioulsy, if you have, you need help.

Easy to say, hard to do.

Talking to a shrink or counseler usually ends up with me feeling worse.

i dont know how accurate the poll is. it shows that half of the people that voted considered suicide seriously. if they failed in commiting suicide, wont they try again? how hard is it to kill yourself? imo it must be very easy to kill yourself. i mean, man, if so many people are considering suicide, wouldnt we be reading about them all the time in the paper? im talking a LOT!!

Not once.
I thought about signing onto a tramp steamer and starting over in Bubfvck, Brazil, but I never, ever considered suicide.

It was almost the same deal for me as it was for the original poster the only thing keeping my from not killing myself was my family and my two dogs. No matter how bad i felt my dogs always made me feel better.

To answer the question...Yes, every day I think about it.

Also, I did seek help, but all they do is give you anti-depressents that just numbs your mind, so you aren't capable of doing anything to yourself. So why do that to yourself, when alcohol can do that and you don't need to go to a doctor and say "i have a problem, I can't be around knives without thinking about cutting myself." Or maybe say something like, "every time I look at a bottle of aspirin I remember the time i took the whole bottle and wash it down with some vodka." No no...trust me I'm lucky to be here rite now, and I try to look positively at things...even tho thats not possible just got to take it one day at a time....never know whats gonna happen next.

i still think about it everyday for the past 3 yrs and have twice gone really, really close to doing it. and i stillr eally seriously think about it. when my parents found my suicide letters a yr back, they thought it was all BS and that i was trying to play some game. the only thing keeping me from doing it still is hope. the hope for a happy life.

Without trying to discount or minimize obvious bouts of severe situational depression, sometimes failed attempts are just that. However, I can atest to the fact depression is a form of reality altering psychosis. Maybe a person could believe that what "normal" person logically see as an extremley poor way of achieving the said end result, might seem perfectly logical and effective to the person who makes the attempt.

I can't believe how many people think about it every day. The thought has never crossed my mind.

Well, I think alot of people are confusing normal human curiosity and fantasies, with what I define as serious consideration. Unfortunatley, I cant explain accurately how "close" I got to the edge. I only have my inadequate vocabulary to use in a fruitless attempt quantify my emotions.

till this day i still entertain the thought of 'volunteering' for death...if there's such a thing. Being a Christian i know i won't really wanna take my own life for fear of Hell but i will volunteer if the need ever arises. Life, no matter how nice and rosy it may be/seem, is still one long trip into the study of pain. Death is the release.

Yeah. I think many of those (or at leas some) who said "yes" weren't seriously considering it, but merely thought about it.
