No body + no murder weapon = no crime right? Don't get me wrong..I'm glad he was busted and convicted..but if he had any sense he wouldn't have given the location of the body.

[/serial killer hat]

Uh, he recorded his crimes and even took pictures.

Given all 84 counts or so, it would be impossible not to be caught even without the bodies/weapons.

For those of you who think that his actions were "unusual" for a killer, they are not. These types of psychopaths often revisit the scene of a crime and do things like jerk off to relive the incident. Arsonists do the same (after the building has burned or while it's burning, from a distance).

i never saw a confession throughout the videos... i feel kinda ripped off.

i don't know why the guy never decided to be like "well, things aren't looking too good for me.... i'm outta here to go call a lawyer". he was free to leave at any time.

i love how the detective nailed his ass law & order style... like, whenever he put the warrant and car seizure forms or whatever in front of him to show him just how fucked he was.

He killed two women, not that it makes a difference, but I don't know why so many are using 'girls' and then mentioning the 11 year olds he stole underwear of.

Canada process isn't like the US. It was just backed by their supreme court earlier this month that those accused of serious crimes have no right to counsel prior to interrogation.

don't get me wrong, i'm glad that slimebag is locked up and caught... but i mean, come on... if you're trying to get away with something, you try a little harder than sitting there like a constipated moron and confessing. at least take a shit in your pants and start rubbing it on your face or something if you know there's no way out of it...

Interesting videos. You can practically feel the emotions going through the guy as he realizes he's caught.

Yup. While I was watching this video, i kept thinking of when I was younger and my dad caught me doing something and I would just sit there in silence thinking to myself, "How the fuck can I lie my way out of this". Obviously this is a much grander scale them what I am referring to, but the basic rush of fear/regret.

He knew how it was going to play out and wanted to do as much damage control as possible. I imagine he wanted to make a deal that would tell them everything in order to keep the...pictures...out of the media and away from his family. Obviously that's not how it turned out, even though I don't think it was at all necessary to even publish those images.

Interesting. I googled this and found this article

Link

"The court said police cannot force a suspect to participate in an interrogation, but that the suspect does not have the right to have a lawyer there if they chose to participate in the interrogation."

So you could basically still say I refuse to participate in this interrogation unless my lawyer is present. The guy still could've walked out of that interview at any time. I doubt it would've mattered in this case since it looks like they had overwhelming evidence regardless.

I think that the point is they could bring someone in and ask them all the questions they'd like. A lot of people don't realize that they can ask for a lawyer (surprisingly) and much more probably don't think of it while they're in there.

Interesting to watch. The IT part about recovering data made me cringe a little, but i doubt he even tried to wipe it so.
