Does it count if I was the minor I bought it for?

this

yup
hey there, you didn't read my disclaimer? 😛

"ummm... sex with yourself doesn't count, so i'm going to go with a "no" on your question too."

what disclaimer?

and yeah I bought it when I was underaged, shared it with underaged girls as well.

I used to buy for my brother and his friends all the time back in the day. I was 2-3 years older than them. Funny thing is at that time i did not drink alcohol.

Alcohol was purchased for me when I was younger than 21
I have purchased alcohol that was consumed by someone who was under 21

There have been a couple occasions when I brought beer to a party at a private residence and there was someone there who drank some, but I've never actually bought alcohol specifically for someone underage. Similarly, I've been to parties where others provided me with alcohol even though I was underage (when I was like, 19 or 20, and I had 21+ friends who bought it), but they never specifically bought it for me.

yes, my brother who was underage.....he comes to the house with his GF, they pick up some beers up and on the way to a party he flips off a cop....not smart.

It was the young cops first week alone in a patrol car and so he decides to be a badass and pulls them over...he finds the beer and the pot they had, along with a bowl or two....they get hauled in for questioning and he keeps his mouth shut but the GF breaks like an egg and rats me out.

My father calls me tells me what happened and I went ballistic. I told the cops that he stole it and I had no knowledge....I was let off the hook entirely. When they went to talk to the DA and told him what happened the cop was in the office with him and the conversation goes like this:

DA: "So officer you pulled him over for flipping you off?"

Cop: "yes sir"

DA..."son if you are going to pull over every smart ass kid that flips you off you are in the wrong business....get the hell out of my office and don't bring this kind of crap in here again"

Needless to say all charges were dismissed...but yeah I learned my lesson....fuck that doing you a favor is not worth me going to jail or having a record.

Wow man you got lucky as hell.

I would bet that saying "he stole it" has probably been used a bajillion times. 😛

His brother was probably even luckier in that one.

yeah. I was shoulder tapped on the way into a store.
When I was their age I did the same so I obliged. I was never too worried about it.

i used to be the guy in high school (when I was 16/17) that could get beer for the party, i had a nearly full beard and long hair. i have not purchased alcohol that was consumed by a minor since.

Yeah, I bought for my cousins when I was visiting them in the US. They were 19 and 17 at the time and we had a few beers. 21 is a ridiculous minimum drinking age anyway, so I didn't really think twice about it.

KT

Of course. And I'd do it again... Not for strangers, mind you, but I think that our country's alcohol age restriction is absurd, and I feel no moral obligation to follow an unjust law.

Poll doesn't really apply, but yes I've bought alcohol for minors...when I was a minor myself. NOT A DROP since I turned 21 though.

Around here, the cops are always running sting operations, trying to get stores to sell liquor to kids, trying to get adults to buy liquor for kids, etc.

Not worth the risk for me.

thx mosh, that was the option i was looking for.

I did a few times until a chick turned me into the cops. Stupid girl. Anyway, I won't do it again. This generation has no respect for those that choose to help them out.

Nope, I've never purchased it specifically with the intention of giving it to minors. However, my son is 19, he's in college. If a few of my beers go missing from the fridge, I really don't care. If a 12-pack disappeared, I'd be pissed - that's at least 2 months worth of beer for me. I may even keep cheap crappy canned beer in the fridge so he won't dip into my expensive green bottled good beer.

ive bought a couple of times for my younger brothers. i usually keep a few beers in the fridge and have let them know that if they want one, they can take one. one is 21 now, the other is still 19. neither are stupid enough to get caught, or turn me in. i never considered it a big deal.
