Have you ever purchased alcohol for a minor?

I'll post a poll so you can remain anonymous if you wish, but I'm curious as to whether anyone has bought alcohol for someone who is not old enough to buy it for themselves. I know when I was 16 and up there were always people who would buy it for us.

I did once, only because the kid was a friend, 20, and I owed him. It was just a 12-pack of beer.

Edit: so I guess 20 isn't technically a "minor," I voted wrong. He was under age though.

Yes but it was back before our current "temperance movement" when the legal age was 18.

I don't know. You sort of reach the same goal.

yes, my brother who was underage.....he comes to the house with his GF, they pick up some beers up and on the way to a party he flips off a cop....not smart.

It was the young cops first week alone in a patrol car and so he decides to be a badass and pulls them over...he finds the beer and the pot they had, along with a bowl or two....they get hauled in for questioning and he keeps his mouth shut but the GF breaks like an egg and rats me out.

My father calls me tells me what happened and I went ballistic. I told the cops that he stole it and I had no knowledge....I was let off the hook entirely. When they went to talk to the DA and told him what happened the cop was in the office with him and the conversation goes like this:

DA: "So officer you pulled him over for flipping you off?"

Cop: "yes sir"

DA..."son if you are going to pull over every smart ass kid that flips you off you are in the wrong business....get the hell out of my office and don't bring this kind of crap in here again"

Needless to say all charges were dismissed...but yeah I learned my lesson....fuck that doing you a favor is not worth me going to jail or having a record.
