When I was six I watched the Kennedys with John Junior board a helicopter and lift off from the back of the white house.

I touched the King of Thailand on his shoes.

I got the Carpenters Signatures out back of Wolftrap park in Va.

Let see, I met/saw a few actors/actresses/singers/folks in between in person.

Sung Kang (Fast and Furious) while I was in S. Korea. He looked exactly in real life. Very cool and easy going dude.
Tara Reid at a comic/movie convention She looked rough without all of the makeup on.
Gary Busey in Dallas. What a hood/funny fella. I don't think he was acting. LOL.
Yanni. He was taller than expect. Cool show.
Nguyen Tien Dung (spelling?) the former Prime Minister of Vietnam (he just retired recently) at a New Year festival while I was there with friends. No way you could get that close to high ranking politicians in US/Western countries.
Most of the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders at a convention.
Younger Bush when he was the Governor of Texas at a NASCAR race.

That's all I can remember for now.

I really want to meet and shake Stan Lee hands before he kicks the bucket.

OP knows PAB in RL and hasn't even mentioned it yet. All of the PAB stories she has that we have never heard. :(

I've met Tuti from the Facts of Life and Malcom Jamal Warner from the Cosby show. I win.

Also - I have met Dean Kamen a bunch of times, and have been to his house quite a bit. As in actually having been invited and gone into his house - not just stalking the grounds and looking in the windows.

Most of who has been mention here as a living legend are merely your standard run of the mill celebrity. They definitely don't rate the living legend label!

R. Lee Ermey. At a trade show and he was being escorted around. He stopped at our display and chatted for a bit. Seemed like a really nice guy.

He would be awesome to meet. He had a show on the History Channel called Mail Call and he's done voice over work on Family Guy.

Briefly met Jimmy Page after a show in a bar in Detroit in 1988. Also met Bill Cosby in the mid-80's after he walked into the wrong part of a hall in Toledo OH. Abe Vigoda sat next to me at a Las Vegas show in 1990. Met Dick Vitale too.

Think that's about it.

Paul Newman was always down in the Newman-Haas pit at the Long Beach Grand Prix in the 1990s. I took some pics of him one year but didn't bother him for an autograph. I've seen a few celebrities and famous racing drivers in the pit lane there through the years too. Mario Andretti, Dan Gurney, Emerson Fittipaldi, Juan Pablo Montoya, Alex Zanardi, Danica Patrick, Ashley Judd (she shunned my friend when he asked for her autograph), Dennis Rodman to name a few. I used to rent cars to Bill Nunn pretty regularly in the early 90s. I've also seen Jeff Bridges with his daughters (when they were young) but my wife and I didn't bother them.

Oh, and a couple summers ago we were having lunch in Newport Beach and sitting at the table next to us was Anne Hathaway.

I'd say Mario Andretti qualifies as a living legend, probably Dan Gurney and Fittipaldi too. Paul Newman qualifies as a legend but, of course, he's no longer living.

two of the guys from stone temple pilots crashed one of my - pretty epic - parties, that's gotta be my biggest claim to fame. when i was really young, my dad took me to a club in bridgehampton where we saw chevy chase, tom hanks, and bruce willis (apparently robert de niro was there too), which was cool but we then went went to watch a subbed VCR of Akira which was imho much cooler, cuz it was like 1989 or something.

another one which i'm not sure of, but if i recall correctly, F.F.Coppola was at our house. my dad worked in distribution and had quite a few friends in cinecitta ... and could speak english, which wasn't common in the early 80s. and we had a big sweg house and my mom could cook like a wizard, so famous film people would come to crash all the time.
i was probably playing with some plastic toys or something, must have been 12yo.

I have met Barry Manilow and Barbara Streisand !! I have met Wynton Marsailis and when I was younger I had back stage passes to Moody Blues and I have met Clint Eastwood! Clint has a thing about lawns .....that does not even include the countless classical artists I have had the plesure of meeting! Probably the most interesting was Gustavo Dudamel a very brilliant human being!!

Heh...I was working on a construction project at Cypress Point gold course in Pebble Beach in the late 90's rebuilding some of the cliff faces that had been washed away during the winter storms.
My crew had been pulled away to help with something else, so I spent time doing preventative maintenance on the crane...washed all the windows, greased everything, etc.
Then...I got bored. I rummaged around the rough, collected a hardhat full of lost golf balls...threw them onto the putting green, grabbed a sand rake from a near by sand trap...got down on my knees and started "shooting pool" on the green.

All of a sudden, a pair of golf shoes walks up from behind...and I hear "the voice" say,"well, you making any?" Without turning and looking, I replied, "making a few, Mr. Eastwood...you you doing today? Out of all the people who could catch me fucking off...it had to be you."
I stood up, shook his hand, and we walked around the job together for about half an hour...just chatting. He owns a gold course in Carmel, and we had been in there all summer moving large oak trees for him, so we knew each other well enough to speak and chit-chat. NOT my finest moment...but a great memory.

I met Jerry Sokoloski (tallest Man in Canada) numerous times over the years as he is a semi-regular customer of ours. He is one massive guy.

I am 6'1" and this guy made me look like a midget.

I encountered Andre the Giant in SFO in the late 80's. HUMONGOUS sumbitch...tried to get an autograph for my kids...his security team stopped me. "Andre's not in a good mood today." they said...to which (me being me) I replied, "if Andre is in too foul of a mood to sign an autograph for a couple of kids who are fans, maybe he should win a fucking fight once in a while."

Saw William Shatner at an outdoor stage at a big shopping mall in San Diego (CA) when I was much younger in the early 70's. He told Star Trek jokes with Leonard Nimoy. But Nimoy's not living so.

Went to a taping of a show with Shania Twain, she walked by me on her way out.

Spoke to Saul Rubinek briefly in a sushi restaurant in Toronto.

Bush jr drove by me when I was in Phoenix sitting at a Hooters patio.

Busbee the songwriter/producer at the same set as Shania Twain. Actually chatted with him at the recording studio.

This is one of the sets.

Just realized that today (a few posts ago, post #67 to be exact) this thread got resurrected from over 3 years ago. But that's ok under stay-at-home orders.
