Googled myself once and stumbled across a guy in Australia, never learned much about him other than the fact that he exists.

Always thought it was crazy that there are two of us, on exact opposite sides of the planet.

oh ja, I recently created a Facebook account and I was #539 of people with my name IIRC.

I think there are like 50-60 people with the same first and last name as me on facebook, as well as a handful with the same first, middle, and last name.

Not quite "John Smith" common, but pretty damn common.

I've met one of them.

*edit* Actually scratch that, I hadn't counted in a while. There are closer to 200 other people with my same first and last name on facebook.

Never met anyone, but the phonebooks from the motherland have people with my name. Not so much here, though.

I've never met anyone, but I know there's about 3 here in Denmar with the same combination, my lastname is very unique so I'm probably related to them.

Never met, but the mayor of a nearby township has the same name. For a few years after we moved here I wondered why we sometimes got noticably preferential treatment at restaurants. Such as coming in without a reservation, seeing 10 parties ahead of us, and being called while almost all of those parties were still waiting.

One day a hostess asked if I was the mayor of that township and I asked her whatever made her think so, then she told me we had the same name. That's when I found out.

I have a common first name, but very unique last name (anyone with the last name is a direct relation from my great grandfather). I believe there is another one or two of us.

There are at least two others with my name but I've never met them; they live in different areas of the country last I saw. One was on Facebook, one I just found out in Google.

Oh, and Google once turned up someone's newborn in Germany who had been given my name. So at least three others now.

Once. I used to do customer service for a movie theatre and handed out refunds when needed. We eventually started requiring customers to sign and after this one guy walked away that I helped I just happened to look at the name and it was mine. Was weird.

Yeah guy at work has same name as me. Sucks because i get work IMs and emails at times meant for him and vice versa.
