My grandfather was an artillery spotter in WWII and a artillery staff officer in Korea. He literally killed hundreds of people. He told me this story about first getting to Korea. He was a captain (or maybe a major, don't remember) at the time and showed up without any orders. There was a pilot of a piper cub without anything to do, so grandpa goes up with him and looks for sh!t to blow up, eventually finding a convoy of trucks that he proceeds to obliterate. When he was done, there were no trucks left. When he got back to base the general was pissed, he didn't want his staff officer blown out of the sky. It's weird to consider how many people he killed.
