Not counting oral and dental work, I've had 2 and am lining up for a third:

Harrington Rods in my back when I was 17.
Kneecap replacement with artificial bone when I was 12.
Will soon have sinus surgery to reduce the size of my turbinates.

Spleenectomy, cross-checked in the wrong spot during a hockey game. 5 days in the hospital bed and I came to realize just how much you use your stomach muscles for.

For? (if you don't mind me asking)

I'm 31, and just had my 5th heart surgery. Had two when I was 19 (the second gave me a pacemaker), and have had 3 more since December. Had my wisdom teeth taken out in 1991, and I also had viral meningitis in 1997. No surgery there, but I was in the hospital for 11 days and had every single test known to man done to me (spinal taps suck).

Yea, I haven't been lucky at all on the medical front. However, I'm still alive and lead a pretty good life.

Other than wisdom teeth (which really does not count as almost everyone gets it done), I had ankle surgery last year. I now have three titanium screws in my right ankle.

Yeah, I broke my jaw into four pieces. They had to put me under to wire it shut and get it lined up and such :)

I've had several:

When I was born, my mother's pedophile doctor whacked off part of my dick.

I've had several moles removed. I have as many moles as my parents put together.

Last week I had sinus surgery and a toncilectomy. Still recovering. The scabs falling off the tonsil site hurts more than the actual surgery.

I was in a bike accident so they had to do surgery on my head, that's why I am a little crazy at times :) I also had some weird substance accumulating on the back of my left quads, so had to get that taken care of... so overall I spent 2 hours in the surgery room?

I just had my shoulder operated on on last Thursday. They had to cut the shoulder bone and arm bone back because they were bumping and causing all sorts of problems. They also removed a spur from the rotator cuff. Hurts like heck and can't move my arm much but it will get better soon. Then I can have the left shoulder done as it is in the same shape. No big deal just something to go though, I guess. Could have been a lot work (like when I had a bone spur removed from my heal - 8 months recovery on that one).

I got my hand bit by a Pitbull. It cracked a chunk off my knuckle and the doctors decided to leave it in there. Everything got infected not that long after, though, so they had to cut the hand open and clean things out. The night after the operation it felt like my skin was peeling off my hand under the cast. Worst pain I've ever felt. Glad I've never been cut open for anything serious.

impacted wisdom teeth extraction
vasectomy
and one of the worst ingrown toenails the foot doctor had seen (I hoped for months that it'd get better on its own... I *hate* needles)

not really. I had my wisdom teeth removed a few years ago.

a long time ago, I had to get my ear cut open because the earrings I got my ears pierced with were too sharp (where the stone setting is), cut into my ear, and the ear closed up over it. I have no idea how that happened.

I think the majority of the population has at least one kind of surgery whether it's a simple on or not. I would say I have had two.... One went under the knife when I was only 1 years old for a head surgery, and the other I would say is just wisdom teeth extraction..

No surgury, but I did have an MRI & other tests for my strokes. (I'm 25).

stroke that young??? dang..
