Have you ever gotten any type of surgery?

I think the majority of the population has had at least one kind of surgery whether it was a simple one or not. I would say I have had two.... One went under the knife when I was only 1 year old for a head surgery, and the other I would say is just wisdom teeth extraction..

Partial colonectomy to correct a birth defect at age 43. It took over 4 months for them to properly diagnose. Was precscribed opium, belladonna, valiums (not all, but some concurrently) and had my priviliedge to drive suspended while I was on them. Had 2 MRI's ,upper and Lower GI tests, Barium enema, 2 colonscopes. Told the x-ray techs during the Barium...'it wasn't like this when the aliens did it"... cracked them up.
Spent 6 days in the hospital, recuperated for 5 weeks, then went on tour, still with a gash from above the belly button to just above the pubic bone.
A stagehand from Local 1 in NYC was bitchin because I was finger pointing ( not pushing and locating my gear unpacking cases, etc), one guy called me a "white glove prima donna" as he thought I wasn't doing my share of the work.. I lifted my shirt and he went pale and apologized.
Came back a year later and they (his crew) were still giving him sh1t for that.
No colostomy bag for me though. I have to drink more water than I used to, as I can dehydrate faster as a result of having about a foot less lower intestine than I used to.
Total cost over $65,000. Actual cost including meds..... $15.00 gotta love Kaiser Permanente

Yes, major brain surgery at age 6, to correct my super rare extreme case of epilepsy, it worked but also at an extreme cost.

I had to have the toenails on both of my big toes removed because I kept getting in-grown toenails. it was pretty painful, but nothing too serious...

I do think it's hella funny though -- I went through 2 years with in-grown toenails and never got an infection. then 4 years later, I get a case of athlete's foot that ends up sending me to the hospital for a week because of an infection

Had viral meningitis which the doctors mis-diagnosed. Caused me a brain surgery and then later on some sinus surgeries.

Had surgery for my nose... couldn't breath through it. Busted it playing hockey.

And had my ACL replaced along with cart'lidge removed from my knee when I went big this one basketball game. I forgot to land right.

Orchiectomy to remove cancerous right testicle. Then RPLND (Retroperitoneal Lymph Node Dissection). Yeah, those were fun... :(

I've got quite the scar from those two. From just below my sternum all the way down to my pelvis then it takes a right turn for several more inches. Do a search for tom green scar in yahoo image search to give you an idea.

Only time I've been in the hospital other than being born was when I broke my collar bone. But there was no surgery for that.
