Have you ever got a DUI?

My freind just got a Dui and hes not the first person i know to get one. i got pulled over once after i drank, but it was only 2 beers and the cops breathalized me and i passed. has anybody here got one. im curious cause it is a fairly prevalent crime.

Of course not. Should fry the fvckers when the do get them. It's completely preventable. Just like that dumb slut that sued the Girls Gone Wild or whatever.

chickendinner, I've never gotten a DUI, but like you said, it is preventable.

No!

My best friend got one a year or two ago. I gave him rides to work and back, and he lent me his brand new Accord in return while his license was suspended.

my friend got one 6 mounths ago and he got his license back after he went to court. his insurance comp. never found out either. dunno why. hes hella lucky.

no, because I'm not a dumbass. It's not like you don't have a control over it. Anyone who gets DUII deserve to have their license suspended and driving during this suspension should carry a jail sentence.

Yes, I have. I was 16 when I got my first one and then when I was 20 I got a refusal to submit to a breathalyser. When you are a teen you do stupid things, so don't bother trying to condemn me for it, since i'd never drive incapacitated at my present age. Don't be so damn quick to condemn people, since you have not been in anyones shoes but your own. BTW, some people can get a DUI after just one drink. That is ridiculous.

Transportation workers live under a .039 criteria per federal regs. Just think how busy the lawyers will be when .039 goes public!!

Why is "people do stupid things when they're a teen" a rational excuse for anything? What about all the kids that don't do stupid things like DUI when they're teenagers? So you made a mistake when you were 16, and then you did the same thing when you were 20? I am not sorry to say that you should have had your license suspended when you were 16 until you were 21. Some people get a DUI after one drink? All the more reason they shouldn't drink/drive after drinking, duh.

It's not an excuse first of all, I don't need to give you any excuse for my actions, nor do I regret anything i've done. Teenagers are going to drink whether you like it or not, and if you say you haven't done stupid stuff as a teen, then you are the exception to the rule and likely have no life. It's not rationalizing, it's called reality. Live with it or don't go outside where the people are.

Typical. That's all I'm going to say.

Kind of an embarassing incident. I had only consumed 3 cans of beer, and headed home from a friends house. I was totally fine to drive, but unfortunately I didn't use the bathroom before leaving my friends house, so I stopped in an empty parking lot to take a whiz. Quite naturally the police happen to roll through the parking lot and see me, I quickly zipped up, still not done whizzing, but I managed to go about 80%, so I was back to a comfortable level. The cop lectured me, asking if I was drinking and driving, I said I only had 3 beers, which was the truth, and that I was guilty of public urination I guess. He was pretty cool, after giving me a field sobriety test, which I passed, he let me go without a ticket, just saying not to piss in any public lots again.

no, but i know a guy who has 5 under his belt, lets just say he needs someone to drive him everywhere he goes 🙂

My father-in-law got one last fall. He was on his tractor, plowing his field. He got alittle to close to a dead tree with his plow thing and it pulled the tree down on top of him. the tree was at least a foot in diameter. It pinned him down somehow and the tractor kept going till it finally stopped about 120 yards later up against another tree. I guess he couldn't shut the tractor off so it kept spinning the tires until my mother-in-law went searching for him about an hour later. They called the paramedics they came and checked him out, the cops also came out. He refused to be taken to the hospital, I guess he was pretty out of it the whole time. So the police drag him down to the police station which is a good twenty minutes away. They had him do a breathalyzer test which he couldn't do because he had a collasped lung and broken ribs. I don't know how they actually proved he was drunk. After they got done my mother-in-law had to go pick him up. This happened on a monday night and it was Wednesday before he went to the hospital. He was in pretty bad shape. After a week and a half in the hospital he came home. He doing much better now. The police department drop the charges about 2 monthes later. It was pretty messed up that they can charge you for dui on your own property driving a tractor. yeah, it's pretty stupid to do it, but it even more stupid for the police department to drag you off and book you when there is evidence that the man is in a great deal of pain instead of taking him to the hospital.

I agree if it happens on private property since he's on his own damn property. He's in pain and police are trying to charge him.

I believe in exactly the opposite had this happened on a public road. If you're DUII, hit a utility pole and cause yourself a great deal of pain, too f'ing bad, Darwinism. He's commited a crime of operating a motor vehicle upon public property under the influence as well as cause property damage(the pole).

No, I have never gotten a DUI,but I drive a big truck and I have a CDL(Comm. Drivers License) and,as someone mentioned above,my legal limit is .004. So ,I dont even drink at all (in public).

Peace
