Really? Where can you get one for $300?
Some people actually pay for their performance, and like to have a warranty. Not everyone "overclocks the hell" (and life) out of cards.

you should just get a bind for these posts 🙂. press "[" to bring everyone back to reality 😀
it's going to be a good card if it markets for the price it's supposed to be.... but since when has that happened to a pci-e card? 6800gt for example...

6600GT 😀
Thomas = pwned.
And yeah, I love Rollo. I'm a Rollo fanboy.
On the X800XL though, yes, it will be an amazing value at $300....if it ever ships. ATi has had EXCELLENT cards for the press to review over the last 6 months....just none for people to buy. High end PCIe GPUs are extremely hard to find and extremely expensive when you do though, I'll agree.

The X800XL would be a stellar deal at $300, and likely drive down the price of other cards if it shipped at that price point. There just aren't any at that price point yet.

What other cards are they going to drive down in price? The x800xt? Or are you referring to the Nvida cards that may be for sale at mrsp some day next year? This whole vaporware thing is pathetic and if the xl800 is produced in mass soon, it will own the market, as nothing else is available anywhere near that price range.

ATi needs to ship the parts very quickly if they want their part to be the kind of tier dominating part that the 6800GT has been for the last few months. When the 256MB 6800GTs are hitting the price point the 128MB varriants are already at(the 256MB full GTs are in the ~$365 range at the low end), the X800XL isn't going to look nearly as good as it does versus the MSRP from months ago.

Quoted for Sad Truth.
I was going to get an x800XL, but ATi is too busy trying to sell me ink on paper, so I bought a 6800GT Golden Sample from the FS/T forums.
I'm not biased, but from a business standpoint, they just lost some money.
