Sounds like the OP had acceptable service regarding his actual phone.

I'm not sure what issue the OP is having, but their support for memory products seems basic. You fill out the service form on their website and it looks like you send it in. I'm not even sure why you'd want to be on the phone for a microSD warranty request.

In the last 10 years of occasionally RMAing different storage items (hdds, sdds, memory) with a bunch of companies, I don't recall ever talking to anyone on the phone.

The whole thread comes across as a friendly reminder: the quality of a device isn't just about the specs or design. It's also about the quality of support you get after the sale. Remember that before you leap to declare a device "overpriced," because you may be paying for good service after the fact.
OP can't be that bothered as he hasn't posted in the thread at all.

Unless he clarifies a few things you can't jump to any conclusions at all

OP try another (or a couple more) microSDcard in that expandable memory slot.

Then if another works you know if it is the phone or a defective card.

My personal choice for card brand is the Samsung Pro line of cards with up to 90MB/s read and 80MB/s write speed... also the flash is MLC on those... And there is a nice long warranty...

If I ever am unfortunate enough to have to call Samsung, they can't ding me for using a cheap card it's their brand after all. If you're lucky you can find even the PRO microSD cards on sale at Frys.

My most recent one was 32 gb for $22.99 when the MSRP is closer to $30-$35

IMO this thread is meant for a laugh by the OP. Other than that I cannot comprehend how s/he goes from a broken micro-SD (physically? functionally?) to Verizon support center or phone, to "Samsung gone off the cliff" (whatever that means).

I am almost always on consumer's side (v. corporations), but I imagine a physically broken micro-SD is a tough case for warranty.

Hell, I had an issue with my headphones from Creative and I just filled out a form and just needed to wait for them to reply by email for confirmation on the RMA request. My western digital drive RMA back in 2001 was the same. I didn't even know they still did phone support for these types of issues.
