I've liked most of his movies. National Treasure 1 & 2, The Rock, Con Air, Lord of War, Next, Bangkok Dangerous.
Probably some others I can't think of now. I don't get why everyone hates on him but likes certain other horrible actors *cough* will ferrell *cough*

i guess you've never seen a little known work of art known as "the rock". it's kind of obscure, so not many people have seen it...

Valley Girls.

Am I the only one who loved this movie? I watch it every Christmas Eve while wrapping the kids Christmas presents.

It would've been better with someone else. His presence just seems to bring movies down.

He's an interesting character in most of his movies. He maintains a normal kind of guy with nothing extraordinary going for him... That's how he played it in the Rock and most of the other movies where he's the leading character.

I enjoyed "Lord of War" and think he did a pretty good job in that movie as his character started to get a conscience throughout the movie. "Honeymoon in Vegas" is painful to watch now, but when it came out it was about par for romantic comedies of the era. Cage nails the underdog-type character that has to rise to the occasion to save the girl/hostages/younger brother/etc.

His voice is kind of annoying and his personality on screen can be too....but if he lands roles and sells tickets, he'll keep acting. David Schwimmer comes to mind as a similar actor with less going for him.

exactly.

it's like the good movies that he's in are accidents that would likely be miles better with anyone else in the role.

Nick cage plays....Nick Cage, thats his problem.

He sucks

I agree, he's got no range. You could swap the characters he's played in any of his movies interchangeably and never notice. He's no Tom Cruise.

i used to watch it all the time. that and the pickup artist, less than zero and a bunch of other off key flicks we liberated from a failing movie store back in 89. another i was forgetting was fire birds. i liked that flick also. ive been a fan for a long time, even tho ive missed a few of his newer flicks

I was watching Peggy Sue Got Married the other day, and it struck me how much better the movie would have been without nicholas cage and his damned annoying voice.

it got me thinking, has he ever been in a good movie, not counting something like Fast Times at Ridgemont High where he had a bit part, or something like Raising Arizona, where it was good in spite of, not because of, him.

No offense, but it is pretty clear that you dislike NC. Nothing wrong with that. We all have actors that for whatever reason, we just don't like their work. I have one or two myself.

That being said, all you have to do is go over to imdb.com and take a look at the stuff he has been in. The movies range from total stinkers, to brainless "popcorn movies," to more serious work.

After looking at that list, if you honestly believe he hasn't been in any good movies than the problem is not with Nicolas Cage, it is simply that you dislike an actor so much it clouds your judgement in regards to movies that he has been in. As I said, almost all people feel the same way about at least one actor. This is not a criticism, just an observation.
