Has Kevin Spacey ever made a bad movie?

Just finished watching K-Pax and I thought about something - I haven't seen a bad Kevin Spacey movie. Here's a list of all Kevin Spacey movies, I think that's all of them (*marks the movies I've seen)

Ordinary Decent Criminal 2000 *
The Big Kahuna April, 2000 *
American Beauty 1999 *
Hurlyburly 1998
A Bug's Life AKA Bugs 1998 *
The Negotiator 1998 *
Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil 1997 *
L.A. Confidential 1997 *
Albino Alligator 1997
A Time to Kill 1996 *
Looking for Richard 1996
The Usual Suspects 1995 *
Swimming With Sharks AKA Boss, Buddy Factor 1995
Se7en AKA Seven 1995 *
Outbreak 1995
The Ref AKA Hostile Hostages 1994
Iron Will 1994
Glengarry Glen Ross 1992 *
Consenting Adults 1992
A Show of Force 1990
Henry and June 1990
See No Evil, Hear No Evil 1989 *
Dad 1989
Working Girl 1988 *
Rocket Gibralter 1988
Heartburn 1986

Maybe there's a sucky movie that I haven't seen, but from those I've seen I liked.

So, am I correct in thinking Kevin Spacey wasn't in a bad movie?

"The Ref" was mediocre, and while "Iron Will" was a Disney movie, it wasn't too bad. Looking at your list, I'd have to say no.

I just saw See no Evil, Hear no Evil the other day on comedy central and Spacey had a huge growth on his upper cheek area. It was gross, he must have had it operated on or something. And... I don't think that movie is too great, but it's probably not bad either.

Kevin Spacey is an excellent movie. I still marvel at American Beauty.

Kevin and "Jack" are my favorite actors.

I don't see the appeal of American Beauty. Personally I think it sucked.

But as for Spacey, he is truly amazing. After American Beauty he made The Big Kahuna, a 10 times better movie in my expert opinion 😉

Gasp!!! The horror that is posted in these forums... good heavens! That movie is a modern masterpiece... watch it again. It's should be on everyone's top 5 or top 10 list. The movie is amazing.

I'll have to agree...

Some guy who likes a young girl and his daughter likes a weird kid whose dad is gay?

Wow, sounds like a soap opera. 😕

Same here. I thought that had to be one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

But other then that I like him and think he is a good actor

I really liked American Beauty. The whole idea of the movie was the irony of suburban life. I thought it made some good points. It also had Kevin Spacey in it, so +100 points for greatness 🙂

how can u say that :disgust: that has to be one of the best films of 2000

I agree somewhat. I don't see the overall appeal but I don't think it sucked. It was a mediocre introspection into the craziness that hides amongst suburban life, with shades of David Lynch thrown in, but it wasn't a bad movie.

On the whole though, most Spacey movies are worth the price of admission.

<< i've never seen any bad movies by bruce willis or by kevin spacey. >>

I can't believe you can say bruce willis or by kevin spacey in the same breath.......
