Has God ever spoken to you?

A friend of mine has turned religious after claiming that God talks to her. I was at a loss of words, mainly because she's never been religious.

Now I think it's fine if someone talks to God, but I draw the line at God talking back. What do I say to her?

Do you mean by a burning bush or a booming voice in the sky? No.

But a sudden and random "impression" felt in my heart that inclinded/willed me to do a certain thing for a person that truly made a different in his/her life and in mine? Yes.

How God "speaks" is as different as each and every person.

Even though I'm not religious, I know some people perceive events in their lives as signs from God and act upon them. Most of the time I have no complaints with that.

But God speaks to her, literally. She described his voice as mid 30s (how she pinpointed age, I do not know). She talked back and they had a conversation.

I'm not religious.
In fact I hate religion, but me and the Man get along just fine.
I try not to let religion get in the way of our relationship.

Jesus spoke to me once.

He asked me if he could mow the lawn on a Tuesday instead of the usual Monday. Aye carumba!

I have a hard time even believing in religion let alone someone being spoken to by God directly.

Yes. I shared the story via PM with another ATOT member who might even be reading this. Why me? I don't know.

Yes, but how do I tell her that? I know she's psychotic and could use help, but I can't exactly tell that to her face.

YES! He has! Sometimes when I'm in the supermarket, he pronounces in a loud, authoritative tone, "clean-up on aisle five!" I believe that if we can find the meaning behind these words, we will know the meaning of life.

I'm not religious, but I believe in a "greater being"

person a: "God is real!"
person b: "I talk to God."
person a: "We all do."
person b: "God replies back to me."
person a: "wow, you're crazy. you should be locked up."

She's probably schitzophrenic. You should advise her to seek treatment. I believe in God and he has not yet talked to me.
