Nobody understands why, what the hell
They say things like "Who made you God?"
I say, "Well, I figured I must be God,
When I was praying and a bell went off
In my head that said
'Hey, you're talking to yourself!
Asshole!'"

How come:

Today - "God spoke to me and said I need to..." = schizophrenic
2000 years ago - "God spoke to me and said I need to..." = All hail the prophet!

He spoke to me once.

"It's raining, dumbass! Turn your windsheild wipers on."

Because 2000 years ago schizophrenia had not been diagnosed. They're the same mentally ill people, just the names have changed.

When he spoke to me he mentioned that others would lie about him speaking with them. He then told me Bill Gates was indeed the devil and to kill all people with blonde hair and blue eyes.

God spoke to me.

He told me to pick AMD over Intel and so I have an Opteron system. God also told me to buy a 7800GT and not wait for the X1800.

I'd say it's a little more complicated than that
You make it sound like people 2000 years ago had no ability to think for themselves, with or without science

Does anyone have any links to sites that speculate on perhaps that those in the olden age who in the bible state that they've spoken to Christ may have had schizophrenia?

Now I think it's fine if someone talks to God, but I draw the line at God talking back. What do I say to her?

edit for poll

tell her that when jesus comes back...you will kill him again!

and no i do not believe that God talks to people audibly, or through "feelings," or miracles, or any of that nonsense.

Then you can't really call yourself a Christian.

Ignorant mindsets like that is the reason why the Christian religion is crumbling.

I don't believe in revealed religion, but I seem to be rooting for Christians who at least are realistic about their beliefs. The "bearded man in the sky" ideology is just plain stupid.

those who are into science and technology are usually the ones who use computers and go 2 use forums a lot. From that point to view, this whole thread is going to be one sided, comprising mostly of people who are atheists or agnostics or half believers who are looking for a sign. Still this thread is funny as hell.

BTW, god told me to write that.
cheers ;)

Science and technology and those that use computers and forums have no significant weight on being one that believes in no God or unsure of one.

There are plenty of religious forums and that predicates using a computer.
