Has anyone preordered Mass Effect 2?

Bateluer

Lifer
Its launching on 26 January 2010, unless its delayed between now and then. Preorders are up from a number of sources.

I very rarely pre-order games for a number of reasons, but despite the flaws in ME1 and the further dumbing down/consolization in ME2(they took it further than ME1), the game still has an interesting storyline and its enjoyable to play. On the positive side, some of the things I've read say they are going to address some of the short comings of ME1, such as the completely vacant planets. Hopefully they also address party dialogue and inventory management too.

Does it have?
MULTI PLAYER COOP?

ME1 would be even more awesome had it support Multiplayer COOP!

I never preorder. Big fat stinking waste of money. I am looking forward to this game, but I wont pay for it until after I pick it up off the shelf and carry it to the checkout.

well the first one was great, but the DRM was absolutely horrible.

There would be times when the server would be offline, and you couldnt play a single player game.

This lead to a lot of people finding cracks for a game they bought, so we could play the game when the server was down.

I hope they fixed this.

I'm not preordering it but I'll definitely pick it up later next year. Too many good games that came out this year that I have to catch up on.

Nope, still have several games to play through before Dragon Age, let alone Mass Effect 2.

Hopefully, by the time I play it, it will be nice and patched.

I preordered the CE. Not because I'm going to play it the day it comes out (I have a backlog of 15 other games to play), but mostly for the preoder bonuses, and to make sure that I had the CE by the time I did get around to playing it.

I preorder anything I know I will want. It's an easy way for me to keep track of it all and I just have to walk up to the counter. Saying that "preordering is a waste of money" is a fucking retarded statement. You don't lose any money.

Unless the game is a 'disappointment', then you lost money. You preordered and bought the game before reviews and knowledge of the game's quality became apparent.

Preordering is stupid. What, you think it will sell out? When has that ever happened, except for very limited collectors editions?

If you're worried about the title selling out then it makes a lot of sense to preorder but it's certainly not without cost. For example, if your personal discount rate is 10% then a preorder of a $50 game six months early carries an additional cost to you of $6.

I never pre order anything but I'm in NJ and there about 20 stores in a small radious of my house that sell it.

Nope - no reason to pre-order any more. Back in ye old days when pc games dominated the store shelves at the local software store - it was a good idea to pre-order to ensure you had a copy on release day [reminds me of when Unreal was released - I had to drive to 3 different game stores to find a copy on the shelf].

I only pre-order if, A: The game is going to be great and I'm 100% sure of it. B: I get a discount on price by pre-ordering. A lot of pre-orders come with $5 off retail price, so that's the main reason why I would do it for a highly anticipated game.

Preordering is silly unless you want a collectors edition because the only stores that ever sell out are the ones who take preorders for some reason. I have never failed to find a bunch of copies of a big release game sitting in walmart while Gamecrap was completely sold out. There is always the rare occasion that a game will be much more in demand than expected (Demon's Souls anyone?), but in times like that I was recommend you take a deep breath, chill out, and wait a bit because its just a game and popular games tend to repopulate shelves soon after release. 😛

LOL pre-order! If I so desired a game on the launch date, I would walk into any number of local Walmarts, Best Buys, GameStops, etc. and literally find the shelves overflowing with said game!

I pre-ordered it for the 360. I enjoyed mass effect on the 360 and on the PC it kept crashing on me. So this time I'm going to just go 360.

Digital downloading has rendered pre-ordering to avoid a sell-out moot. I'll only pre-order for substantial discount on a game I know I'll want and if I'm not burdened with a ton of other unplayed games at the time. So, essentially, never.

I don't pre-order to get "dragon armor" or whatever. You can mimick the effects of any armor/weapon anyway thru console or trainers so why pay more for a collector's edition? meh.
