Has anyone ever woke up to find their arms COMPLETELY asleep?

... .as in tingly up to your shoulder, and you couldn't move them if you wanted to. It quickly recovers within 2-3 minutes.

Basically, I woke up with my hands underneath my pillow. Who knows how long I had had my arms underneath my pillow, but I couldn't even move my arms cause I guess me laying on the pillow completely made them weird.

Ever happen?

All the time.

Seriously, one time I woke up and BOTH of them were like that. I got freaked out. I jumped up and went into the bathroom and my arms were flying around banging against the walls, it was weird.

Yes I've had it happen more than once.

Low blood pressure+ narrow veins or something like that.

Never entirely asleep, but I frequently wake up to my right arm pretty damn numb because of the way I sleep. Also, I CANNOT ride in any vehicle for more than 30 minutes without either of my legs either falling entirely asleep, like flail your foot around and not notice asleep, or cramping badly in my upper leg.

Yup.. I didn't even feel the tingle. They were just completely numb. I couldn't feel my hand/arm at all. It feels weird touching yourself when you can't feel yourself. I hope I don't get gangrene one day from having it numb too long.

The problem is in your neck, with the brachial plexus of nerves that runs down to your arms. This is a rather common problem. It can be fixed by trying pillows of different sized/configurations as well as different sleep positions.

Dos it usually recover quickly? Mine 98% recovered within a few minutes. At this point my right arm is 100% fine but I still feel a LITTLE something in my left arm but slowly getting better...

Yeah, I usually notice by turning over and punching myself in the face. It's a hell of a way to wake up. You get punched, try to defend yourself, and your arms dont work. Then you realize there is no one else in the room. I've given myself a nice bruise or two some nights. :)

This thread has me , especially with JLGatsby's and Savij's mental pictures.

I've done this a few times. I've fallen asleep with my arms in weird positions, like stretched across the face, and then I wake up later, and it goes something like this...

"Damn, why is my arm there. Wait, that isn't my arm, because I can't move it. Ah, sh!t, who's fvcking arm is it then. Wait, why can I move my arms"...

:(

Yes, this has happened to me. It's usually one arm, though. It usually happens because I've rolled onto my arms at some point during my sleep. I just roll over onto my back and wait for them to come alive again.

it happened to me this morning. My right arm was complete dead. Feeling my arm was like touching a corpse. Everything was okay after a few minutes :)

yeah, that happened a while back. I felt a strong "needle" sensation in my right arm and when I tried to move it, it just wouldn't move, kind of scary to be honest because I didn't know what was wrong at first.

Woke up once with both arms TOTALLY asleep and the phone on my headboard ringing.

Ended up swinging my limp arms enough to knock the phone off the hook, and inchwormed my way over to it. Pretty damn funny...

More often for me, its my legs. I'll wake up with a huge tingling feeling in both my legs, and it feels really strange (somewhat painful) to walk on them. Goes away within 5-10mins tho.

I haven't had this happen in many years. But then again, maybe I just don't wake up in time to notice it.

Maybe once a month or so, I'll wake up with an arm mostly asleep. I've never had both of them asleep.

Yup, only happens occasionally when my arms are in a really strange position like bent back under my pillow.
