went from 178 to 155lbs..

I tend to not eat when I'm upset.
But then I started working out also.

Yes, we do sound similar.

How did you lose your weight?

I went on the South Beach Diet. It was easier than I thought. I just avoid sugar and white flour plus try to keep calorie intake around 2000 or less each day.

Nothing special. I just cut out EVERYTHING bad. No sodas, sweets, fattening crap, etc. Then I only eat when I'm hungry. No more snacking when it's not necessary. I eat small amounts, but more frequently. So instead of lunch with a sandwich and sides, I'll have the sandwich, then sides around 3:00. And I exercise daily. No days off - 7 days a week. I know that's overkill, but I'm dedicated to get back in shape. Being fat sucks!!!

I am 5' 8", big built.... used to be 275, now I'm 215. Trying to get down to 185. I Have high blood pressure and a high pulse.....

Think when I lose the rest of this weight I could really lose the BP?

Yes. Caloric restriction is key + what you eat. Eat more dense food that will fill you up (like high-fiber stuff that's low cal). More exercise is always good. I'm actually addicted to working out now. I have to do cardio everyday or else I feel like I've lost the game. Feels great :).

When I give blood, the nurse has said on numerous occasions, "You must work out, because your resting pulse and blood pressure are very low."

About 4 years ago, I went from about 250 to 210 by cutting out almost all starches from my diet...just ate grilled meats,, fruits and salads. Nice weight loss for no real effort...unfortunately, after I got hurt, my level of activity went into the crapper, and I found it all again, PLUS an additional 25 lbs...I'm a fialry big guy, (6'1" and under the fat, I'm fairly well muscled) and carrying this extra weight is hard on both my bad knee, and my bad back...I try to lose it again, but without being able to walk more than about 100 yards, it's tough trying to burn it off...
