About 3-4 weeks ago, I was at my mom's house and the Internet is through Comcast under my brother's name. No CATV service. He's was paying $54.99. The Internet was acting up so I called Comcast to see what was up. The CS rep checked the line signal strength and said the signal was fine but would send someone out to change the cable modem (which someone did come do later). After the call was complete, I asked if there was promotions for current customers and the CS rep came back and said there was Internet/CATV for $19.99/29.99 respectively as a bundle with a $25 installation fee for the cable, good for 12 months without any contract. I promptly signed him up for that.
Weeks later he gets a bill for Internet/CATV for $42.95/59.99 with a contract attached. WTF!? Any way to fight this bullshit short of canceling? There's only two ISPs in the area - the other being AT&T DSL at a whopping 768Kbps.
