Has anyone changed their diet and then had their taste change?

Ive been eating healthy for the past year and a half and ive found that fruit and vegetables actually taste a hell of a lot better than they used to for me. Its been like this for ages actually but ive just noticed it today as i explained to someone what i eat and they were like "wtf how can you eat that rabbit food crap??" Leafy green stuff is still a bit meh as dosent last very long but ill still pick up a bag of it at the supermarket and eat it as other would eat crisps. Wholemeal bread i make myself is great, also for a treat every now and then i have a few blocks of dark chocolate which i couldnt stand before but now its damn tasty. I gather it has a few health benefits, although its still full of calories and fat its better than milk chocolate generally.

Im sat here with a bowl of mixed veg, peas, sweetcorn, peas in pods and carrots and its really tasty. Next up is a can of tuna followed by an orange or grapefruit (another thing i couldnt stand before but is actually really tasty now).

Anyone else ever had their taste change due to a change in diet? Stuff that used to taste pretty bleh starts tasting great?

Yes, I think many of us mirror your thoughts. I cant really stand fatty/salty/processed food anymore. Veggies and salads FTW.

I avoid salt anyway but most processed food is over the top. I, also, love steak but my mouth fells greasy afterward which I didn't notice before. Yuk.

I usually ate pretty healthy when I was dieting, but I have no issue enjoying junk food still. I still can't stand the majority of vegatibles too.

Yes, the same. So I was finally able to have all those things pregnant/nursing women can't have, and most of it was a disappointment. I quickly went back to my healthier selection of foods.

Yes, very much so. Besides foods, I've noticed how poisonous juices are.

Unfortunately, my kids drink a glass or two of juice per day. Even though I dilute them with water 50/50 those still taste like sugar only. Terrible crap.

We try now to make our own juices but it is not very easy to do daily.

I rarely find a juice I can drink straight anymore, unless I make it. If I make it, it's fruit into the blender with some water. Done. The baby has still not had juice. Milk or water, that's it. Sometimes rice milk as an alternative to water.

actaully quite a bit, I can barely stand the taste of soda anymore. most candy is too sugary for me to enjoy, I can't eat store bought cake either. Even most stuff out of boxes taste strange. My gf thinks I'm crazy because I eat at least 10 chicken breast a week she can eat them for a day or 2 but eventually gets sick of it. I dont' know why but I never do, I'm also always cooking them differently.

i don't know if it's due to any change in diet / eating habits but i've noticed as i've gotten older that sweet stuff tastes overly sweet to me, if that makes any sense. it's as if i'm hypersensitive to it now to the point where i don't even bother eating any desserts when offered.

except cheesecake.

i decided to basically give up red meat in 2010. so maybe if it was a special occasion i'd have a steak or soemthing.

that said, when i do have it occasionally it just seems a little blander. so maybe you are right, i guess you expand your pallette and after that the dominant taste of stuff isnt the same.

i gave up all soda and sweetened drinks. i only drink water and tea. deserts are often too sweet for me and i can only handle a little bit.

the exact same here

I have been eating low intensively for 6 months or so, and cyclick low carb before that.

Just the other day I forgot to bring my usual brocholli / carrot snack. So I snagged a regular green apple from someone.

The sweetness floored me. It felt like I dumped an entire pixie stick in my mouth.
