Has anyone cancelled their wired phone and just use a cell?

I pay about $30 mo for my home phone but never use it. I'm thinking of cancelling it and just using my cellphone. Is anyone doing this? Any problems?

i did that back in college. me and my roomates decided to cancel our landline cause its basically useless. everyone calls ur cell, it has voicemail and you don't get telemarketers hounding you.

I used to do that and am about to again. I get free evenings and weekends for $45/month cdn. I'm never home till after 6 during the week anyway because of work. I don't really talk on the phone that much either so it works well for me...never had any problems.

yup, i only get the most basic landline phone service to use dsl. and i dont even attach a phone to that number. heck, i dont even know what that number is!

We'd like too here at our house. It's 4 of us living here and three of us have cell phones.

That one mother&%&@$ won't cough it up and get his own damn cell phone. So we end up paying $45 a month for a landline that the three of us NEVER use (he's the only one that uses it).

Sure, it's only $45 split 4 ways, but it's money that I shouldn't be spending. I already pay $50 a month for my cell service. Lazy Bastard!:|

I am going to port mine over to my TM family plan when my area is eligible. Only $10 extra instead of $40+

My whole family has moved to wireless.

Sister's
etc etc

Landlines are a rip off, the only people who call want money or donations 🙂

My roommate got a landline, he pays for it himself. I don't want anything to do with it.

Only bad thing is that if the power goes out seems cell phones are the first to go......landline still works most of the time, at least in my area.

I have not had a home phone for several years now, and I couldn't be happier. I use T-Mobile service, and have been very happy with them.

I dropped my land line and I use a cell phone and a cable modem. I've been going this route for 3.5 years now.

When I start job hunting in a year or so, I plan on getting a land line for a fax machine, unless I can figure out how to hook up my phone to a fax.

The only reason I can see for having a land line is if you need it for DSL, internet access, or if you have kids. A land line is important when you have children for 911.

Yep, no land line for years. Only problem is that Domino's Pizza won't deliver to me until I go in and verify the number.
So I get Papa John's instead.
