Has an ATOTer ever died?

That's pretty crazy. I wonder if this thread gets locked for talking about him? :Q

Anyways, sooner or later some of us will have to go somewhere better than here.

Don't forget PCResources(sic)! He was a member of more than one single country's special forces, and died early on in Afghanistan. He even posted here after his death.

And what a guy he was! He built 8 way Athlon systems on hand macramed motherboards of his own brilliant design, and raced expensive cars (or was it spaceships). He did everything well . . . no, more than well, SUPER WELL!

Yup, prolly, but if we stop now, I think we can save this thread.

A while back, there was this dude here on AT who posted about another member who died (he posted pics of her). Everyone believed him until someone recognized the photo. He was an "established" member, too. I just can't remember his AT handle at this time... 😕

What AT believes to have happened is that he had his startup page set to the forums with auto-login. I don't think anyone has disproven or proven his death. We can only wonder.

Yeah, I have AT forums on my links toolbar and I could easily see someone accidently clicking it. Thus showing me logged in since I never log out from here. 😛

What does (sic) mean? I always see that and I'm like WTF? 😕

Undoubtedly there have been members who have died, but we'll never know. I can't see how anyone on here would find out if I kicked the bucket, cause it's not like I talk about AT to all of my family and friends.

Used in quotations to desginate an error that's supposed to be there.

It shows that it's not a mistake during the transcription of the speech, or in this case debate.

Probably more than that, but..... 🙂

sic

\Sic\, adv. [L.] Thus.

Note: This word is sometimes inserted in a quotation [sic], to call attention to the fact that some remarkable or inaccurate expression, misspelling, or the like, is literally reproduced.

He means it was misspelled originally.
