I really could care less. All I asked was if AMD had recognized the problem, apparently not outsie of a driver upgrade. (which doesn't do that job)

Every game except BF2 has problems. I have to set affinity for all my games.

What do you have running in the background?
Could you give us a screenshot of your system devices as well?
Virus/spyware? (I noticed both Napster and eDonkey but no AV or Adaware/Spybot)

it is not a problem if the drivers they put out work, and obviously they do if others dont have issues..they can't be bothered by someone not intelligent enough to work their PC properly....

Sorry what do you awant us to do?? come fix your PC for you cause you cant?? I am sorry for your short comings but yuou fail to see logic as it is slapping you upside you thick skull....

Oh by the way I am stuck in a night pattern from recent work so I can go alnight talking around in a circle with user who has issues with his abilities...so keep it coming....

Nope, just wanted to know if AMD knew there was a problem.

Many x2 users are having problems (unless they change afinity)

You seem to be the first I've heard of...
None of the other X2 users here are experiencing them at any rate...

And if you read other ppl threads instead of repost your drivel you would see that post I created solved many of those ppls problem who were having to set affinity...I say many cause not all the ppl came back in saying they had actually taken the advice and tried the drivers and either confirmed they helped or not...Pabster had issues and the X2 drivers cleared them right up...He is a much more superior pC user then you though.....

Actually some were experiecing a glitch that causes games to act like they are in turbo mode....some had games that would lockup at entry or jitter really quickly...all believed to be related to how the software app saw cpu speed in term of timer....

Contrary to what an Intel fanboy like Fatty would have you believe these issues first surfaced on mutlithreaded cpus but befroe the X2 lauch date...yes that is right they occured on a P4 with HT.....He doesn't want you to know that though...

Thanks for the correction Duvie...

Fatty...to answer your question, I believe that neither Intel nor AMD have had a press release on installing the proper drivers and patches for their chips...

And you could have figured that out if you did a search on your own.....I could help you spell GOOGLE if you didn't know how!!!

Well one obvious thing about Quake 3 is since it is a popular game it is only reviewed in evry major review with an X2 and none of the reviewers had issues with it they mentioned...But we know they are more competent/....

Little exchange we had in the other thread about a week ago....Anybody notice anything???

Above he says he has no issues in BF2...

Every game except BF2 has problems

IN the quote above he said he did. In that thread many fired back they have no issues in BF2.....Changing your story...consistency goes a long way...

<<<k, just got home heres and update:

originally, i did not do a fresh install of windows and just swapped from single to dual core. warcraft would fast forward and stuff after playing a few games.

did a fresh install of windows, that worked for regular gameplay. but when i did something like encoding and tried to play, same problem...warcraft would fast forward. keep in mind this is only when im encoding or something while playing...regular playing worked fine.

so that was my temporary fix until i found the winlauncher program i stated in an above post and set affinity. this allowed me to do both encoding and playing w/o problems.

i didnt know there was an x2 patch until recently and didnt bother installing it even tho i found out about it since set affinity worked for me.

but i just installed the x2 patch and now i am encoding a file and watching a replay with out any problems.

conclusion: the x2 patch fixed it for me as well as setting affinity with proggie, but x2 patch much more convenient...for warcraft anyways...

i'd try the patch before the program as duvie recommended. >>>

from Chinkgai...proof is in the pudding...

If you dont think it is possibly a software issue then riddle me this!!!

1) ppl claim to have issues in XP hme and not XP pro...

seems like this could be related to the multithreaded kernel....or the HAL driver from windows...

2) ppl claim to have issues in win xp home and not in windows 2000

3) games seem to be the only single threaded apps I have heard have a glitch.....Doesn't that seem odd??? Playback of video DVDs are not multithreaded and they are not being sped up...Superpi unfortunately has not garnered me a 6.2sec time at 1mb (DAMN!!!!)....F@H units are also unfortunately running right where they are supposed to be...

Why just games...DVD playback uses vid card so that should be ruled out....

How can it be hardware then???

I think I've figured it out...the problem ONLY occurs if you have a KSU jpeg on your computer!
We need to make AMD aware and have them halt production IMMEDIATELY!!

🙂

Edit: The problem I am referring to is the inability to install the recommended patches when loading your system...

Actually I DID have the problem with WC3 in win2k, but winlauncher fixed it. The X2 driver only works for XP.
