sure, they couldn't cram everything from the book in, but there was enough. the effects are awesome too. frankly, i think they were better than those in the last two matrix movies. CG was pretty seamless. i was pretty entertained the whole way, movie doesn't drag at all.

Can you make this the ***OFFICIAL*** and/or ***CONFIRMED*** HP😛oA thread by any chance?

Anyway, the movie was okay. I think I would have liked it better if I wasn't such a fan of the books. I can totally understand that they had to leave a lot out for brevity (the book is too convoluted to transcribe into a 1.5 hour production), but I really feel like the spirit of the book was lost. But that's just me.

Oh, and I did not like the Jamaican shrunken head on the Knight Bus. Boo-urns. BOO-URNS.

the shrunken heads were awesome!

the knight bus part was really cool!

I think they left a lof of info out that was important, but I suppose they covered enough of everything to get through the movie...

I liked it

Do you have to like the first 2 to like this one? Cause if that's the case, I'm gonna just watch this one when it gets played on HBO or something.

I don't know if this helps you or not, but this is the one book that I've been looking forward to seeing on the big screen.

I can't wait to take my son to this one. I enjoy them as much as he does and we have the first two on DVD.

Same here. I'm taking my 9yr old son and my 6 yr old daughter to see it today.

Is it too scary for a six year old girl who's a bit of a fraidy cat?
Did she see the first two movies?
I know this one is supposed to be a little darker and more serious, but if she was ok with the basilisk scenes in the last one, it seems like she should be ok. I'll let you know what I think tonight though.
I'm not worried about my six year old girl. But she is uncommonly fearless. I'd actually be more concerned about a movie scaring my 9 yr old boy than my 6 yr old girl.

It's funny how that happens. My 3 year old is totally fearless, she could probably take it, no problem, but my 6 year old is a wimp 🙂. Not when it counts or when she sets her mind to it though. 😀 Sometimes it's nice to have a "Daddy's girl".

OK. I'm back. I thought it was great. But definitely more dark and scary than the first two. If your 6 yr old is scared easily, you may want to wait on this one.

I just got back, it was pretty good, usually the kids & wife go, I tagged along because the first 2 movies are burned into my brain from the kids attempting to wear out the DVDs for the last few years.

They (wife & kids) had to explain the relationship between the unregistered shape changers etc to me, & the map was not explained well.

It was well done even though I fell asleep a couple of times after they started tinkering with time.

wow, I'm quite surprised by this thread.

My fiance and her sister-in-law (both read all the books, my fiance just reread the 3rd book about 2 weeks ago) went and saw it yesterday and they thought this was the worst one of the 3.

Reasons were there were parts added that were not in the book that added nothing sugnificant to the plot, and looks of parts were not in it that was in the book - things that were needed for explaination.

I haven't seen it yet, but would like to. Probably will wait for DVD though.
