Oh no, there goes the most qualified person in the entire US! Now they'll have to settle for someone who can never hope to match Mier's great achievements.

Is there any person that you lefties around here can avoid insulting on the basis of their appearance?

I have no problem with this. Hopefullly we get someone who's better than this crap, someone qualified, someone moderate. I do feel that if it's a bad nomination, Democrats will filibuster it. We'll see though...

WHO IN THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE CALLING EVEYONE 'LEFTIES'

You need to learn who and what you are dealing with, and not just fling out some drivel when people don't walk your narrowminded path.

Many of us are from the 'Old School' of Republican Conservatism - Pre Bushites.

Think you can get that to sink into your dense cranium ?

Bingo! You know us? The slash government spending, taxes and regulation all in one swoop crowd? the "I don't think the role of the US Armed Forces is to go around to other countries and tell them how to be" crowd. Thats GWB in '99 speaking there...

He wouldn't get nominated. While he is extremely qualified, he is pro-choice.

You never know. I think Dems would grill him over the turrurist torture memos, but they would be inclined to give him a pass. The GOP would be hard-pressed to vote down a Hispanic.

The partisan GOPies would probably prefer Miguel Estrada but I doubt he has the stomach for another battle.

I wonder if Miers' search committee will find a better nominee this time?:D

Captn, hate to say this: If you don't lockstep with Bush, you're not a Republican anymore. The old Republican party that I, for one, liked in many ways is long gone. It's been replaced by a new party of sycophants.

So, Captn, no matter what you say, to them you're a leftie. I never considered myself a leftie until Bush came along, but you know what, I'd rather be considered a leftie than to be in league with the new Republican party.

I consider myself to be a Moderate Republican - a la John McCain, same generation.
Middle of the road progressive type.

I don't know how the Insecure Klan Mentality took over the GOP, just that it needs to be exterminated.

That's going to be a bit uncomfortable for her.

people on both side do it all the time... it just happens that the right have more famous unattractive ones.

Both sides ususally agree that Bush daughters are hot, are you complaining about that?
Rush implies Clinton's daughter as a dog (he's probably right at the time), are you complaining about that?

All this nonsense about Miers subterfuge and brilliant plots is being used to mask the fact that this White House is falling apart. Stop trying to credit them with planning this entire fiasco. The Miers nomination was ridiculous right from the start.

Miers is just another huge error by these incompetent morons. Their only saving grace has been that, so far, the American people have been stupid enough to go along with this farce.

The walls are crashing in on them now and it's really going to be fun to watch.

Ann Coulter is on CNN blaming it on"The Democrats"; invoking vague Clinton references, etc.

Now THAT was unexpected!

Well, that can happen when you nominate your attorney for the Supreme Court....

Funny, Lott was just on the air saying the reason was she had no support among the conservative members. Yep, blame the dems.

But not stupid enough to vote for Kerry. I'd call that about even.

Interesting. Maybe Bush will look for someone with actual qualifications now, you know other than they are best buddies.

Quite frankly I'd almost settle for a flaming right wing strict constructionist anti-judicial activist judicial activist judge at this point as long as they were competent.

PS. I'm surprised Conjur didn't post thist. Where is he? (Did I miss a vaction/ban or something?)
