Perhaps the HD DVD guys should hype Dolby TrueHD a little more. After all, it is a mandatory codec for all HD DVD players and a Blu-ray Disc player doesn't even have to support it.

I'm rooting for BluRay myself. I have a great and desperate need for its large storage space.
Once BluRay computer drives fall below 200, I'm picking one up. So, likely some time in 2008.
Go ahead, sony has stated that the adult industry will not be able to use BluRay, which will put HD-DVD on top once production of HD content wraps up. Make no mistake, the adult DVD sales account for around $4 billion a year.
Good luck BluRay, you have an uphill battle.
I'm still not decided which one i like, i havn't seen video on either.

Well, imo here in the Netherlands blu-ray will have the edge.
Standalone HD DVD and blu-ray players are a rare sight in retail stores.
Now that the PS3 is finally available, It wouldn't surprise me if within 1 month the number of blu-ray players (=PS3) will be larger than the number of HD DVD players (incl 360 drives)
Edit: Well apparantly the addon for the 360 was just released here around 1 month ago...
My guess is that blu-ray players now already greatly outnumber the HD DVD players.

I hereby demand that no-one ever refers to DVD as "SD DVD" in a kind of twisted rebranding intended along the lines of PATA/SATA.
Thanks in advance.
