I've got a Maxtor OneTouch II External Hard Drive. Was backing up stuff to it and it started generating error messages while trying to copy over some of the files, so I restarted, tried to access it again, but Windows won't detect it. I've tried it on XP and on Vista, but no luck. It shows the hard drive in My Computer, but when I try to access it, I get:
E:\ is not accessible
The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.
I accidentally deleted autorun.inf at some point, so I'm not sure if that's what caused it but to my knowledge that should re-generate itself.
I'm guessing I need to somehow rebuild the file structure and hopefully the data should still be intact.. Any suggestions on how to do that? I found this thread, but I'm hoping there's some solution I can do on Windows instead of Linux:

Edit: Hooray! I got to a binary number of posts. My lifelong dream is accomplished!
