Well, we got 3/4 million cowboys immigrating north from the US between 1901 and 1914. Why do you think western Canada is the most 'American' portion of our country?

In 1916, American-born comprised 36%, 30% and 8% of the foreign-born populations of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba respectively.

In counterpart, nearly a million French-Canadian migrated to New England.

That's a lot of cross-pollination between our countries. :)

:( I checked the local restaurant listings and we don't have any Canadian cuisine in town.

I didn't =[

There's no Tim Hortons in AA and the poutine has nothing on Smoke's Poutinerie in TO... *sobs*

Although... I haven't been to Tim Hortons for a meal in at least a year or so now... do they now serve poutine?

I would not eat at Timmies. The food quality really went downhill.

I'll keep that in mind the next time I head home!

Does their coffee still taste the same? I used to drink it all the time when I was at U of T

Smoke's is a big name around here but it's only mediocre poutine. You'd have to try some of the smaller places to find better.

It's Canada Day? Then why the fuck is most of Quebec sitting one town over from me right now, in Old Orchard Beach, Maine?

Not getting the "celebrate war of 1812" PR campaign going on by media outlets and guberment... Great, "we" won one stupid pointless war, stopped those dirty Americans from taking over our country. Yippy ki yay?
