I like how we've created this whole segment of journalism for "Commentators" and "Bloggers" so that both sides can skirt the rules and standards that journalism has been held to for ohh so long.

Anything Hannity or OReilly or Stewart or Colbert (or the many others) say should not be consider journalism. And by extension it should not be considered news.

Why do we stick up for these gas bags? They all pretend to be objective. But we ALL know for a fact that they all aren't. Hannity is NOT objective. Stewart and Colbert are clowns, they don't take themselves seriously one bit. OReilly is militantly partisan...against ANYONE that doesn't think the way he thinks...shall I keep going on down the list?

We are responsible for this media mess. Stop defending these clowns. And stop watching them for anything other than mental masturbation. They are only on TV to make money for themselves.

If libs are calling this "ownage of hannity", no wonder they're out of touch with the american public. The author being interviewed does absolutely nothing to dispel the theory that libs need doom and gloom ("the economy is in dire straits") in order to promote their agenda.

The best part is all those who scurry to defend this author guy. I'm waiting for those defending him to back up his claim that our economy is in dire straits. And don't squirm, wiggle, try to change the subject(i.e. answer a question with a question, or compare the "dire straits" comment with the "economy great" statement by hannity) or get clintonian...(i.e. "it depends on the meaning of dire straits" etc)

No instead he's all over Palin giving her softball questions which point the blame at Obama from the get-go.

FOX news is pretty much the most biased news station I have ever seen. It should be looked at with the same credibility level that Comedy Central's shows have, except that Comedy Central's shows are at least somewhat funny.

The Jon Stewart Show and Colbert Report do make fun of both sides - seems like more recently. Granted, it's usually the right but maybe it's just because it's so easy the past 8 years. ;)

What does that have to do with credibility? I agree that they make fun of both sides, but that doesn't mean I'm watching to get my news for the day...I'm watching because they are monkeys getting paid to make me laugh.

They're satire news comedy shows. Where did I say they were credible?

I could careless both parties will spend and spend. I know there will be no SS or medicare when I retire in 25-30 years. The government will have bankrupted both by then thanks to over spending. Both parties will raise taxes to pay for these bail outs and other programs. All I can do is vote for the here and now. That means voting based on what each would do for gas prices. The Pelosi plan has drove the price of oil up almost 10% in 3 days.

Why are we wasting our laughter on an idiot like Hannity? While missing the point

Because in 46 more days we, the American people, must answer all those future questions.

Now, boys and girls, which major candidate for President on 9/15/08 said, "The fundamentals of the American Economy are Sound?" ( hint. The answer is John S. McCain )

Does that sound exactly like Hannity to you?

Atleast hes not like the gay NBC reporters Lee Cowan who always stays near BHO's ass and makes comments like "Covering Barack Obama Makes My Knees Quake" and asks him questions that he loves to answer

Hey, look, a homophobic twat.

Go die in a fire plzkthx :D
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To manowar821,

Who is running for President, John S. MCain or Lee Cowan?

Who is more worth discussing, John S. McCain or Lee Cowan?

When both John McCain and Sean Hannity are making the same basic statements on the economy, it links them together on this thread which is about the economy.

Please tell this board why Lee Cowan has any relevant place on this thread and why you felt compelled to inject him in as a total irrelevancy regarding anything to do with the economy?

I didn't say anything about him, I was insulting andy04 (who brought Lee up) for using "gay" as in insult. Because he's a homophobic twat.

I agree with you, LL.

Ask the FRB or the Treasury dept your question, Daveymark. They haven't been on a "Mission From God" to bail out financial institutions because everything is just peachy. If anything, they'll attempt to understate the issues to calm investors' jitters...

Yeh, I know- the truth just drives you deeper into denial. More's the pity.

Sean Hannity gets irate with a guest. Fast forward to 2:00.

Sean Hannity once again shows what a partisan hack he is. FOX news really needs to be abolished.

I agree that Hannity is a partisan hack but the station that most needs to be abolished is MSNBC. The whole crew over there are major league partisan hacks. Mathews has an orgasm when Obama speaks, Olbermann has BMDS (Bush/McCain Derangement Syndrome), and Maddow is a republican hater with an agenda, (never has a republican on her show ..... or if she does they are morons set up by her). Those shows are so obviously one sided it's embarrassing! I used to watch Mathews Hardball show and considered him somewhat fair until about 6 months ago when he seemed to go off the deep edge, (caused somehow by Olbermann?).
I rarely watch either channel for news anymore ...... hopefully they will go back to mainstream issues after the election ........ I won't hold my breath though.

Get rid of both. No one needs Partisan Hack Networks of either sort.

Pesky Bill of Rights always getting in the damned way.

You don't agree?

The greatest? The best? I don't think you can call any country the "best".

It's called an opinion. Thanks for giving yours

It depends on what the meaning your Traitor In Chief's words is:

Government's Wall Street Rescue Plan is Biggest Federal Bailout Since Great Depression

By SCOTT MAYEROWITZ and JENNIFER PARKER

Sept. 19, 2008

The Bush administration has decided that the country's financial crisis is too big and too urgent to fight piecemeal and is working on a massive government bailout that could cost taxpayers as much as $1 trillion.
.
.
Details are still being worked out by the administration and congressional leaders of both parties. Officials are expected to work through the weekend to finalize a plan.
.
.
While the taxpayer cost of such a bailout isn't yet clear, this could be the biggest government market intervention since the Great Depression and is reminiscent of the Savings and Loan bailout of the 1980s. That bailout ended up costing taxpayers $123.8 billion, according to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

More quotes from your Traitor In Chief's press conference, today:

"This is a pivotal moment for America's economy. Problems that originated in the credit markets and first showed up in the area of subprime mortgages have spread throughout our financial system."

"There will be ample opportunity to debate the origins of this problem. Now is the time to solve it."

"These measures will require us to put a significant amount of taxpayer dollars on the line. This action does entail risk. But we expect that this money will eventually be paid back. The risk of not acting would be far higher."

I'm waiting for YOU to back up your claim that our economy is NOT in dire straits. And don't squirm, wiggle, or try to change the subject. This we've GOT to hear!

Yeah, Daveymark's comments there were about the height of irony considering current events. Now, if this were 3-4 years ago and he was talking about one of Dave's usual chicken little predictions, he might have had a point. But all political agendas aside, the shit really did hit the fan this week. That happens sometimes. Just because some 'Libs' always carry umbrellas on cloudless days is no excuse for conservatives to stick their heads in the sand when it rains.

Hannity is a man because he can act angry and insult people?

Hannity is a man because he can with the righteous certainty of a true believer tell everyone how great the economy is?

Then let this "man" also tell us how it is that this great economy is going to require a $1-to-2 TRILLION bailout.

I think fools like you like idiots like Hannity because America has been rendered so impotent and has fallen so far at the hands of Bush and Cheney that beating up on a weakling is about all you and your ilk have left to get a few twitches out of your limp little dicks.

Keep drinking the Kool-Aid.

Yaknow, I watched the video and Hannity got thoroughly pwned in spite of the guest being a milquetoast. I don't know what reality Hannity's disciples in this thread come from, but he is (and they are) clearly out of touch and in denial. How does a guy work for Fox News and not know the news?
We just narrowly avoided a total banking collapse, a "once in a century crisis" in the words of Greenspan, and Hannity and the wingnuts want us to believe that everything is rosy? Jeez... there's a reason you guys are losing this year.

When did Hannity insult him?

Hey look I really don't care who wins this election. If Obama gets it he'll ruin the country and further prove conservative points. If McCain wins then liberals can continue bitching and crying all they want to know avail.

It's funny to see someone accusing others of being out of touch with the american public while apparently disagreeing with the consensus of any sane person in this country, that is that the economy is indeed in dire straits. If you want evidence, please reference the second greatest financial collapse in this country's history.
