The Hank Williams Jr. song that has opened Monday Night Football for 20 years will not be part of the opening of this week's Indianapolis-Tampa Bay game after Williams made controversial comments about President Barack Obama.

Williams compared Obama to Adolf Hitler on Fox News Channel's "Fox and Friends" show Monday morning.

lmao tard hick southern ignoramus.

After reading your comment and reading his comment I regret to inform you that his ignorance is much less noticeable.

No offense, I like you as a person.
And if you got a nice body, I could like you in other ways.

Huh.
He didn't say Obama was Hitler, he was using Hitler to illustrate two people that have irreconcilable differences.

Yep. Good luck getting any sanity going...

We won't mention all of the Bush/Hitler comparisons, since no one cared about them...

They are specifically saying "this week's broadcast" so I'm guessing next week ole Hank will be returning.

Unless advertisers threaten to bail or the librul media doesn't have anything else to talk about this week. :p

edit: Ugh. I could only watch about 30 seconds of that youtube clip from Fox & Friends.

"I'd love to pick your brains about politics."

My question is: Why?

That's not what he said.

Later in the Fox interview with Williams, anchor Gretchen Carlson told Williams he used the name of one of history's most hated men to describe the President.

"Well that's true. But I'm telling you like it is," Williams said.

I am not offended by his comments but he's a big boy (albeit perhaps not mentally after the catastrophic head injury that causes him to wear the beard and hat every time he appears in public). He knew, or should have known, that these kinds of comments would land him in hot water.

I will say, though, that it's totally hypocritical for conservatives to complain about liberal musicians and "Hollywood elite" commenting on politics without objecting to Williams' remarks.

Those comparisons were asinine! Hitler was a brilliant orator and a decorated combat veteran. Bush was neither.

Both started hugely expensive and unnecessary wars, though. But Hitler was far more honest about his motivations: Lebensraum! Deutschland Uber Alles!

;)

Spidey, I usually find you to be very entertaining, and I really mean that in the nicest way possible. in this instance though, I disagree with you. That remark from Hank was uncalled for.

The issue isn't whether they're consistent. It's whether they're right. And they aren't.

If they were consistent and attacked Williams, they'd still be wrong.

LMAO. Even the Fox staff was uncomfortable. Was the guy off his meds or is that how he usually is? His thoughts were all over the place. The staff asked him about the GOP candidates and he's talking about Obama and Boehener golfing.

He was just trying to show how expansive his knowledge base is towards all things political, especially the part where he didn't like ANY of the Repub candidates, but liked Cain the best out of the lot. LOL

I hope there's a whole lot more Repubs like good 'ol Hank out there. We need every one of them, bless their hearts. whooo-weee!

Hank was incorrect there. He made an analogy. :D

Yeah, I see what you mean. Just like when I watched that last GOP debate. I just kept thinking that it was a lot *like* watching Hitler, Stalin, Mai Tse Tung, Edi Amin, Saddam Hussein and Pol Pot all in the same room at once. I don't mean to suggest that they "were" these people. I was just making a mental analogy.
