A REAL man would simply hang the TV from a Kabar driven into the sheetrock far enough that it penetrated the exterior wall.

Everyone knows this.

Just mount a couple boards across the wall to the studs and then mount the TV rack thing to those boards.

this...even some 3/4" plywood or something...

Stop hanging tv on walls. It looks good in magazines but it performs poorly since it is usually mounted too high.

I just mounted my 72" in the sheetrock directly over the bed on the ceiling. But it perfectly in line with my eyes. It should perform OK shouldn't it?

Sigh, I shouldn't have to tell you this, but the TV goes on the wall and the mirror goes on the ceiling, ok?

Nonsense. TV + mini pc + webcam = win.

I just mounted a 55" TV on the wall using toggle bolts. I used this mounting bracket. I was lucky that I could drill into the stud and use lag bolts for the center anchor but I still used four toggle bolts around the corners. This TV will not come down unless the house comes down.

Yes...because it's in the stud.
