In Sunday's Target sale flyer they once again have the Visor Deluxe on sale for $199. For those of you who didn't get in on the deal the first time, here's another chance.

You can price match with Staples, use one of the coupons and get the $50 rebate. The $199 price is good until 4-14.

carmann - Thanks for the good news and link, very nice. Assuming you can get a Staples CSR to price match against a local Target B&M you can still get the Handspring Visor Deluxe for $109 shipped (after Dash.com and $50 rebate). So far I have really enjoyed using my blue Handspring Visor Deluxe.

RossMAN - Wait a minute, how can I use Dash if I am ordering over the phone. Will Staples allow that? I was just going to PM with target, then use the $40 off 200, then the $50 MIR. Btw, does anyone know when the Handspring Visor Deluxe rebate ends?

You can order online first, and then call in to pricematch later. This way, you can pricematch AND use dash.

Ok, never mind about the $50MIR, I found it at their website:
<< Offer good March 2 through April 30. >>

If I order online, then call in to PM, how do I mention that I ordered online? I've never done that before.

polotek147 - Even if you can't get Staples to PM against Target this is still a great deal at $159, a much better "value" than the Palm Vx for $209.

Here's what you do:
1) Download and install Dash.com if you have not already, read their FAQ.
2) Place your order at Staples.com like you normally would, on your DashBar there should be text that says CLICK HERE TO SAVE 4%, guess what? You click that. Now there should be a lit up green dollar sign, if you see that then you are GOOD TO GO. If you do not, then try and figure it out until you see a lit up green dollar sign.
3) Add a Handspring Visor Deluxe to your cart (good luck they are ALL out of stock probably).
4) Add something for at least $1 to your cart, it doesn't matter what it is.
5) Go to check out, enter the $40 off $200 coupon.
6) After pressing SUBMIT ORDER print out your order confirmation, order now and call them tomorrow morning after they have manually entered your order into their system (they are not automated even though you are ordering online). Call 1-800-3-STAPLE option 2, tell them you placed an order online at Staples.com and give them your Staples customer ID number (if you have it) and your Staples.com order number. Make sure to have the telephone number ready for the Target in your area which has your color in stock. If Staples will allow you to PM against a Target B&M, the Target will need to have your particular color IN STOCK.

Good luck.

You don't really have to call to get a price match. If you are matching to a web site, you can just click the green button to ask for assistance and the rep can often check while you are online. If you agree to the price offered by the rep, you submit your order then send the order number in the chat window. He will catch it and mark it for matching right away. If the rep can't verify the match while you are placing the order (because it's a local store or not enough information available at the web site), just wait for your order confirmation email then click Reply and add "Price Match Request" in the subject. Include all the relevant price matching information -- web address, telephone number of local store, etc. in the email message. The order center will check it out and send a note confirming the match when it is made. It usually takes a few hours but mine have always come through.

FWIW, calls are no more effective than an email mesage because anything a CSR tells you about a price match when you call is not final anyway. All price matches for telephone and online orders are subject to management approval and unlike the stores, they really do verify before approving.

Rossman, you're welcome and thanks for the reference on the other board.

For anyone who wants to PM the Visor, don't listen to the crap Staples csr's give you. Some people have already got the PM while others aren't having any luck. It all depends on the csr you talk to.

Murpheeee - Can you provide the name of the Staples CSR you successfully price matched with? That would really help out people knowing that info.

no sorry she did not give her name

But she did say "I don't know if we are stil matching Target's price, let me check"
She left me on hold for a few mins then came back and asked if they were still selling them at that price....I said "Yes, I just called my local store to check" (which is true BTW...Princeton, NJ store has Blue & Graphite in stock at $199.99)

so she just said..."Ok, your revised order total is $170.**"

My advice is, if the rep wont do it, just say OK - THANKS. Then call right back till you get one who will. Like I said, she checked...so it seems they are still doing the PM.

Also, I installed the Dash bar but nothing happened when I placed the order. Further, Staples does not appear in the list of merchants on Dash.com. Has Dash dropped Staples?

Tri - Staples appears and disappears from the DashBar quite frequently, I dunno why it does that. Also last night it showed 3% instead of 4%, it's only $10 from Dash but every little bit makes the deal that much sweeter.

If you don't care about the Dash 3% or 4% back then I recommend you lurkers place your order over the phone 1-800-3-STAPLE option 1. Just make sure to have all your information ready including Target phone number, Staples customer ID, price, SKU, coupon code and of course your credit card information!

Well, I have tried and tried. to get this pricematched. But I keep getting the same response, "This is not valid........" So I guess I will be happy with 159. but still lot better the 249!!!

That's the spirit! Saving another $50 with the price match would have been nice but you're still getting this for nearly $100 below retail which is still a great deal in my opinion. Which color did you order? I got blue (wanted ice).

As I type this, I am on the phone to staples getting it pricematched FINALLY! I also called HANDSPRING, and they said that they will give honor the rebate if you purchase it from Target. So tell staples CSR to GO JUMP! that we have talked to handspring.

I'm glad to see people are getting the PM. When I got this deal 3 weeks ago, I didn't really have a problem. Could be because I didn't give the csr a chance to mutter any nonsense to me. I cut her off everytime she tried to use one of their many excuses. I had also called Handspring about the rebate and was told they would honor the rebate and made sure to tell Staples's csr this too.

It would be a big help to people if you could get the csr's name and ext # that approved the PM and for those of you calling Handspring (to verify the rebate) to get their name and ext # also. This would make it much easier for everyone to get the PM.

Another reason to be sure and get the Staples csr's name is to be sure they do credit you for the PM. IMO you'ld have a pretty hard time convincing Staples that "the rep I spoke with" said she'ld/he'ld credit me for the price difference.

If you find Staples.com csr just won't give in, go to the b&m and get the PM. Just take a copy of the Target ad. I posted a link to their online ad in a previous post. You may not be able to use the $40 off $200 coupon but there are others you can use.
