In one instance, a Merkava tank from Brigade 401 rolled over a large explosive device that lifted the tank in the air but did not cause any serious damage, due to a plate of reinforced steel that was installed on the tank before the operation.

Look at this cynical use of the humanitarian aid that Israel gives the Gazans.
Why doesn't this stuff ever get reported in the New York Times or any other Western paper? And why should Israel continue giving humanitarian aid to Gaza?

So would you be less outraged if the makeshift grenades were made with empty Egyptian or American medicine bottles? How about coke cans?

Must've taken some pointers from the Canadians! 😛
I wonder what the rating for the explosive they used was. That has got to be pretty powerful to lift a tank like that!

I don't think they took pointers from the Canadians -- the Israeli armor designers are among the finest in the world. They do have the added advantage that their armor will never deploy via ship or plane, though, so they don't have to care about weight. Plus, there aren't too many rivers with small bridges over there. 🙂

That's some of the most cynical raving I've seen in a while, that's for sure. Palestinians use trash to fashion grenades, so Israel should deny them anything that could become trash...
Maybe they should just cut off the Pals' air supply, then the Israelis would be safe for sure, right?

There is nothing more cynical than seeing no evil from your "noble savages" while in pursuit of virtues like tying to transcend xenophobia and self/western criticism to an excessive, irrational, almost pathological degree.

I haven't ascribed any nobility to the Pals, at all, but I certainly deny it to the Israelis.
What the article shows is that the Pals will use anything at their disposal, even trash, to further their ends, and the conclusion of the OP is that Israelis should use that fact to cynically deny Pals, well, everything and anything that could possibly be fashioned into a weapon. That's absurd, and basically beneath contempt.
