Where does this Israeli delusion come from that it can refuse to speak to its adversaries. The bottom line is if we get a Palestinian state, Hamas will have to recognize Israel and Israel will have to recognize the rights of all the combined Palestinian people.

But if on the other hand, we don't get a Palestinian State by around 9/2011, why should a democratically elected Hamas recognize Israel? Nor will that be the least part of Israeli worries, as its more likely that most of the international community will question the legitimacy of Israel itself.

1) Hamas has aptly demonstrated that it twists words in terms of responsibility w/ respect to violence coming out of Gaza. Hamas did not say that violence will not be terminated. It stated that Hamas will not do anything violent. This is the same wording that they used in the last truce. Allow others and disclaim responsibility.

2) Why should Israel have to speak to anyone. It is the choice of a state whom they wish to talk to and how they wish to communicate. No one can force Israel to talk to the Palestinians, Fatah or Hamas or if they choose, Hezbollah or even the US. The US does not have relations with certain countries; with others, they only talk when third parties are present or use an intermediary

3) When the "wedding" was announced, it was stated that Fatah would speak. Before the ink was dry, Hamas started singing a different tune. As long as Fatah toes the Hams line, Hamas will be quiet. If Fatah starts to deviate; Hamas will speak up as before.

Hamas is the key - if they actually renounce and prevent violence (as they have the ability to do so); then your 9/2011 Palestinian state may happen. They world is watching and should not accept ANY excuses.

To a certain extent abwx, I will deny that either Common Courtesy or I will be the deciders of any such international debate regarding a Palestinian State.

And at the end of the day, any pissing contests between me and Common Courtesy will amount to little.
