ALL items that are smuggled into Gaza are taxed by Hamas. Hamas also controls the distribution of supplies that come in for outside via legit channels.


Hamas controls Gaza; they can shut down the militants within that area if they choose to and want to. It benefits them to not do so.

Fatah knows it and is attempting to try to weasel out of the guidelines that have been set out for recognition. Hamas's actions will cause failure again and the Palestinians and their supporters will find a way to pass the blame onto Israel.
