Halo telling me I dont have enough ram..

Just started up halo for the first time in awhile and it's telling me I dont have the ram to play it [It played decenntly on my old POS dell]

Thoughts?

Too much ram? Some older games were designed to be played at 256 colors, so even if you have your color depth at 64k, it;'ll still report that there aren't enough colors available; the logic being that if Colors doesn't equal 256, then it MUST be less than 256. ;)

Yes, I realize video and ram are different. FWIW, my old copy of StarTrek: Armada does the same thing if I try to play on a machine with a gig of ram - if I drop it to 512meg, it plays fine. :roll:

Try removing some ram and let us know.

WTF man, Halo is not that old, it definitely wasn't meant to run on 256 colors. How does any of that make any sense in regards to his question?

Perhaps your video card doesnt have enough ram on it?
