Why oh why do they make these games come out on CONSOLES?

FPS belongs on the PC. Better graphics, better controls, better networking.

Chances are by the time Halo2 comes out for the PC in like 5 years they'll make it run really badly and take out cooperative mode, just like with Halo1. Too bad, I liked that game...why did they have to screw up the port?

Um, stfu? THIS GAME BELONGS ON THE PC, BLAH BLAH.

as much as I loved games on the PC, I got tired of upgrading and fscking with my pc every time I got a new game. I gave in and bought an Xbox last year, and havent looked back since

I'll give you one reason... 4 million+ copies sold. Chances are extremely slim that a Halo 2 PC release would come even anywhere close to selling half that many. IIRC Halo is still one of the most purchased xbox games (hence the reason its still like $39 or $49 or whatever it is)

True. OK, I ammend my previous statment: Why do these games ONLY come out on consoles, and not both? That way MS can make even MORE money.

Games exclusive to consoles sell consoles and accessories. What makes more money? Simple math.

Neither, unfortunately. Split screen on one Xbox only. 🙁

you've got to be kidding me....

I have preordered a copy of Halo 2 (collector's edition).

cant wait just beat halo for the first time last week in preperation of a big halo party

The original Halo blew.

This one, eh, will prolly not blow so much, but I'll pick it up nonetheless, once a fellow AT'er gets sick of it and sells it at a bargain price in a couple of weeks.

Halo 1 was a *good* game, but it wasnt the fantastic revolutionary piece of Jesus everyone made it out to be. There was too much wrong with it for that (repetitive levels and monsters, boring and uninspired level design) but this one should be a lot better because Bungie actually had time to finish it.

Co-Op over Live has been confirmed

Actually it's been confirmed not to be included.

October 25, 2004 - In the days approaching Halo 2?s release, Microsoft has started revealing crucial information about the big picture surrounding Halo 2. As such, Microsoft officially told IGN today there is no online two-person cooperative play (in either Xbox Live! or System Link) in Halo 2.

there was some discussion of it being included over at teamxbox, but the forums seem to be fscked right now...regardless, it's pretty sad that they havent given the players something that was at the top of the list to be included in H2🙁

Um, it was confirmed in a news article at halo.bungie.org well over a month ago where they squashed the stupid rumors those idiots at those boards keep posting. That along with the rumors of bots among other things.

October 25, 2004 @ halo.bungie.org:
Coop is splitscreen only

It's official - multiscreen Coop is not part of Halo 2. IGN has confirmed this fact with Microsoft (and I've confirmed it with Bungie, as well). You can play Coop on a single screen - as you can in Halo - but one player per screen, whether via system link or XBL, is out. Sorry, folks! (Louis Wu 18:56:03 UTC)
